I'm no math whiz but I'm thinking that's supposed to read that LAF had 94 passing yards?

Sorry - former BB user still getting used to iPhone keypad. Thanks for the correction.

Except for kick-offs the Knights dominated this game as more shown in the overall statistics instead of the score.

It addition to allowing two kick-off run backs the Knights lost two fumbles near the goal line.

Offensively Ryan (20-29, 270 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs) had a great game as did Noah Mitchell (228 all purpose yards, 3 TDs). Sam Letton had 2 TD catches and all-time Knight reception leader Dave Bouvier had a catch for a TD. Sophomores Andy Thomson (#2) and Andy Hickey (#10) got some meaningful minutes and contributed on the offensive side. The line did well opening holes for Mitchell. Marty Brown was getting to don both sides. Cameron Baily (#64) and Colin Carpenter (#57) did a good job protecting Ryan in the pocket. Bouvier was able to take over the top spot as the Knights leading career receiver - eclipsing Wes Caldwell's mark of 159 catches.

Defensively, it was a breakthrough night for junior Chase Boling (#56). Boling lead the Knights in tackles and had an interception. He also had a caused fumble. Senior Josh Mesmer had an INT, his 4th career interception. Braxton Couch and Cody Mitchell had excellent games.

For Lafayette Kylan Nelson did all the scoring - including 2 kick off run back in the 3rd quarter. With this being the 3rd and 4th KO returns for TDs (all to same side of field) the Knights have a problem - but Nelson still made the Knights pay - twice.

Clay Bolin struggled as the Knights brought pressure most of the night. The Knight defensive line was getting pressure up the middle and bringing it (mostly untouched) from the edge.

Certainly the Generals have some very strong individual talent, size and playmakers. Nelson is outstanding and did not seem to tire as the game went on. And UK has already offered Lafayette linemen Landon Young and Bolin is a solid QB. But overall the Knights were more physical and able to control the game with a rare combination of passing and rushing.
