Final from NKU in 8 innings.

Per my LB13 texts:

 

Dixie was up 4-2. Conner tied it late to send it to extra.

 

In the bottom of the 8th Conner loaded the bases. Maines hits a bullet down the line but it hits the runner who is called out. Bases still loaded. Himes hits a grounder and the throw home is late. Ballgame.

In the 6th while Conner was down 4-3 a Conner player hits a liner to CF, the CF makes a great effort on the ball and from my view it looked like a catch but the second base ump had a much better view than I and he said it hit the ground. That runner ended up scoring on a wild pitch, crazy!!

Boys and girls, for those not in attendence, you missed one of the BEST games of the season. I'll say it again and again, Conner is the smartest team when it comes to playing the game, alot of teams could learn alot just by watching them. Every kid in the line-up knows how to bunt, they know how to run the bases to perfection, and they have the most team speed in the 9th. Because of this they were able to claw back into this game and pull out the victory. They needed it tonight because they weren't knockin the cover off the ball, alot of balls that just found some "green" and nice execution on bunting and taking the extra base (2nd). Sydney Himes is making a strong case for MVP if the Cougars can win the tourney.

 

Really feel bad for the players for Dixie, they played one hell of a game. A couple of costly plays hurt them, but they play with more passion then most. I've said it before and I told Coach Roddy after the game, "he does the BEST job of getting the most out of each and everyone of his players". He is always positive and encouraging with his players and they respond to this. Dixie should be extremely proud of their showing in this tourney. Again, great job Roddy and to the rest of the coaches and players as well. :ylsuper:

Conner for sure had some nice base running and some real nice bunts, but they didn't play there best game tonight as they threw the ball around a little to help Dixie.

 

Agree 100% on Coach Robby from the outside looking in it seems like he does a great job.

 

I know not many Dixie or Conner posters but did anyone have a good view of the ball hit in the 6th. Did she catch it?
