Austin Hussey is KHSAA Tennis Single Champion!

 

 

 

Sophomore Austin Hussey was the number 3 seed going into the KHSAA state tennis tournament this weekend. On Saturday, he defeated last year's state champion and tournament #1 seed to advance to the finals played later in the day. Despite taking a bad fall and injuring himself in the second set, Austin played tough and WON 6-4 7-5!

It was only 3 years ago that Colonel Jimmy Roebker was 2 time State Single Champion!

Congratulations to Austin Hussey - 2013 State Singles Champion---- and all the players that represented CovCath at the State Tournament, and the entire Varsity and JV teams! CovCath Tennis has the Spirit That Will Not DIE!!!!!!

Within a half hour of feeling the ecstasy of winning the boys’ state single tennis title on Saturday, Covington Catholic sophomore Austin Hussey felt the agony of his body completely cramping up to the point where he had to be rushed to the hospital to receive intravenous fluids.
