With the 8-2 victory over Christian Academy Louisville last night, Coach Miller tied Larry Gumm of Green County HS for the top spot all time on Kentucky's high school coaching wins list. Miller is one of 15 coaches in the country to reach the 1000 win plateau, and he will be joined in that club next year by Mac Whitaker at Harrison County HS.

Thanks for the update.

Any idea where the all-time winningest coach is from or where this list of the top 15 can be found?

And congrats to Coach Miller!

The all-time winningest coach was Larry Gumm who coached at Green County for 44 years. He retired several years ago. His son is the coach at Taylor County and I believe he had another couple of sons who coached around the 5th Region over the years.

This was the list at the start of the 2013 season:

1. Larry Gumm, Green County - 1006 wins

2. Bill Miller, PRP - 977 wins

3. Mac Whitaker, Harrison County - 963 wins

4. Don Richardson, Madison Central - 952 wins

5. Bill Krumplebeck, Covington Catholic - 841 wins

6. Bob Mantooth, Webster County/Apollo - 838 wins

7. Charlie Adkins, Paintsville - 785 wins

8. Jody Hamilton, Raceland/Boyd County/West Jessamine - 777 wins

9. Tom McAnally, Doss/Bishop David/Louisville Holy Cross - 710 wins

10. Bill Wayne, Henderson County - 702 wins

The entire list can be found here:

Thanks.

The original poster mentioned something about 15 coaches across the country that have registered 1000 or more wins. Wondering where that information can be found.

I'm sorry. I didn't notice the "country" part. It's impressive then that two (and a third joining early next year) are from Kentucky.
