Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Augusta? Remember, please be constructive.

The Lady Panthers only lose one to graduation and return an experienced group (of 4) of seniors and juniors.

These girls could have really benifitted from playing a JV and Varsity schedule the last couple of seasons. More you play, better you become!

I can see both sides to this. Some of them who didn't get many varsity minutes, it certainly would have helped. However, most of the girls would have probably had to play both games. I can see where they might have ran out of gas by the end of the varsity game, which could have made some difference in some close games.

The Augusta Lady Panthers have some talent returning and these girls have put in a lot of hours playing together and improving year after year. As Brent Bach is to the boys team, Jerica Kelsch is to the girls. She'll only be a junior this year, has already surpassed 1,000 points and is certainly not alone in her quest to make the Lady Panthers a force. Look for Kaitlyn Whiteman, Oliva Wiseman, Oliva Rolph, Paige McCord and Samantha Kennard to help make some noise in the competitive 39th district.
