I didn't see game 1 but it sounds like 2 errors in the 7th doomed Conner.

 

Game 2 Conner had the 8th grader Roarke on the mount. Got off to a bad start when Conner first baseman dropped a popup on the first batter. A few hits, another error, pitcher late to cover the plate on a wild pitch and GE puts up 4. Strong 2nd inning by Roarke. 3rd inning was not as good as GE put some more runs up.

 

Conner brought Simms back in to pitch rest of the game. She belted a 3-run homer to cut the 10-0 lead to 10-3 and that's as close as Conner got. Might have had 4 hits total.

 

GE has a nice team.

Once again, defense decides a game between 2 good teams.

Glen Este has been one of the better teams in the tri-state the last couple of years. They are down this year but still a nice team. They have 3 girls that have played there in recent years that are now playing for NKU. They have a new coach this year. Tim Gregory left the program this year and he took his daughter with him and I would think she was there best player. Tim runs the Cincy DOOOM.

Bailey Miller would be the righty, not sure I have ever been around a girl that loves the sport more than her. Brooke Parker is the lefty, she has a D1 offer from Bowling Green and has some interest from other schools. I have never seen her pitch and get different reports on her from just about everyone I talk to.

I would think Conner having another pitcher could help them in the long run even if she isn't at the level of Sims. I believe Sims has pitched about every inning for Conner since her 7th grade year.

Glen Este has certainly been very good over the last few years in softball. They do a nice job. Good to see some nky teams playing cincy teams to gauge where they stand. Love to see more of it. Possibly a cincy vs nky 4 game involving top teams at a park showdown sometime would be nice.

A showdown between Cincy and NKY schools in a softball tourn. would be fun.

Now if only the coaches could get together and make that happen, I would pay to see those games.

Yes that would be fun, probably a little more fun for the top Ohio teams. I can't see the top 4 or 5 teams in NKY playing with the likes of Lebannon, CNE, Oak Hills etc. Maybe some close games but not any wins for NKY. Throw out the top teams in Cincy and it should be some really good matchups.
