Since the Breds softball team was off today I had the chance to take in the baseball team for the 1st time this season. Conner Bartels pitched a really nice game, he has a real "nasty" curve. Breds fail to capitalize on a one out triple by Zach Pangallo in the 3rd, but plate 3 in the 5th, the "big blow" a 2 run triple by Pete Collpy.

Good to see the Bartels boy pitch good great pitcher great kid. Pangallo boy is flat out killing the ball what a athlete he is if you haven't seen him play you are missing out. Good win for the Breds.

Story from the Enquirer......

Senior pitcher Connor Bartels pitched six innings of two-hit baseball and struck out 10 batters as Newport Central Catholic defeated Bishop Brossart 3-0. Senior Josh Cain came on in relief in the seventh inning to nail down his first save of the year.

Senior Pete Collopy had a triple and two RBI which proved to be more than enough with the Brossart offense unable to get anything going. Sophomore Zack Pangallo added two hits including a triple in the win.

The Thoroughbreds improved to 4-5 while Brossart dropped to 2-5 on the season.

Mustangs really struggling to put runs on the board this spring.

10 Ks says Bartels pitched a whale of a game.

10 combined losses already?
