KNOTT COUNTY CENTRAL PATRIOTS (29-5)

14th Region Champions

Head Coach: B.B. King

For the second straight year the Knott County Central Patriots are heading back to Rupp Arena and the Sweet 16 boys basketball tournament. Knott County Central won the 14th region tournament by defeating Leslie County, Estill County and Perry County Central in the championship game. The Patriots advanced to the second round of the boys sweet 16 last year where they fell to Oldham County 36-34. The Patriots returned all but 3 starters from that team. Knott County Central will face the Clay County Tigers, who won the 13th region, in the first round of the 2013 boys sweet 16 basketball tournament. Knott County Central heads into the Sweet 16 at 29-5.

Players to watch for the Patriots are standout sophomore guard Camron Justice, sophomore forwards Simon Christian & Evan Hall, as well as senior guard Blake Shrum.

Do we see this a s a low scoring game like they had last year in the state tourney?

I think it'll be in the 50-60 range maybe a little higher but I doubt it will be in the 70's+

I thought that Justice, Hall, and Christian all started last year (think they did against Oldham Co. anyway). I know they lost Davis and Adams. Who was the other starter/contributor that graduated?

Adams, Davis, Amburgey are the ones they lost.

I think you are confused on Amburgey. The only one I can think of would be Trey Amburgey and he saw the floor in the final seconds of blow outs. Davis and Adams are the only lost starters. Justice Christon and Hall started with Cornett and Shrum off the bench. Short missed last season with a knee injury.

Those are the two that I was talking about that started. I mentioned all 3 seniors that Knott lost.

^ then Matt Bentley would also fall into that category. In your original post you said they return all but 3 starters, when actually they return all but 2 starters, Davis and Adams.

^ Didn't show him listed on the scoreboard.
