Obviously, this person does not appreciate being an American citizen. IMO It doesn't matter if they value it or not. I don't think people value being an American citizen who burn our flag either, but they have that right. If you choose not to protect the rights of some, you endanger the rights of all. If you consider the Constitution to be a peice of paper, then I once again don't know what to say. Our government is not a government of the people without it. It becomes a government of chosen tyranny. I want these people hunted down with extreme predjudice in a legal fashion. However, I don't want our government to have legal power to assasinate Amercian citizens.

But the lack of enforcing border and immigration control - I believe a number of the 9/11 hijackers were on expired visas - and arm waiving after 9/11 opened the doors to what are now more ominous powers in the executive branch. I supported the Patriot Act until I saw the video where Judge Napalitano laid out what it really did from a Constitutional aspect. The war on terrorism is starting to look like the (never-ending) war on drugs. Both have been leveraged to attack constitutional rights. I supported it as well, but I was like 11 or 12, so I get a pass. After a school shooting, there are some pretty irrational knee-jerk reactions. Imagine that on a massive scale after a terrorist attack....that is what we ended up with.

This is just another way for the right to stir up fear... Anwar Al-Awlaki. American citizen. Was killed intentionally. He was with other suspected Al-Qaeda members. His 16 year old boy Abdulrahman Al -Awlaki was targeted in a separate attack. He is from Denver, Colorado. Collateral damage included his 17 year old cousin. If you can find a good reasoning behind it with evidence supporting he was an imminent threat that needed to be assassinated by his own country, please share.

Who determines if that someone turned their back on the US without due process? The President, a mere politician, and his team? I don't want Joe Biden in that room. If the legal authority of dictating who has committed treason lays in the hands of the executive, that due process clause serves no purpose.
