They must have been 2-10 going into the game, and now 2-11.

 

HHS plays both Seven Hills and Shroder. Not sure how the matchups got started, but have played them for a few years. The schools are but a 15 minute drive up I71 and it surely beats driving down state to fill out the 30 game schedule. I sometimes wonder why more N Ky teams don't seek out like competition in Cincinnati. Less travel and unlike football, it would not have any impact on the post season.

 

 

Maybe the answer to the smallish number of games played at Shroder has to do with the state of affairs within CPS. Even though Shroder is in a relatively nice neighborhood with 5/3 and Coke having big work facilities next door, the school operates like a prison. You walk through metal detectors and get wanded if you set off the horn. After the game, the spectators are hurded into the lobby as the gym is locked down. Fans are then asked to leave together as a group. The kids and fans of the host school were graciuos hosts. Call me naive, but I didn't see the need for all the extra security. Maybe all the extra work it takes to host a basketball game is one of the limiting factors to the number of games played.

Thanks for the scoop. Interesting about the security. I do like the idea of playing Ohio teams or any team outside of the norm. You never know what you will get. Plus closer than a trip to Conner or Mason.
