Birds start slow AGAIN and find themselves down 16 in the first half. They fight back and bring it to 1 with under 2 minutes to play. MC able to hold on and extend their lead by hitting their free throws at the end.

 

First time I have seen Montgomery Co. No athletes that make you say wow, but many solid athletes with skill and bball IQ. They pass the ball as well as anyone and neutralized HHS' pressure early to get easy baskets. They also shot the lights out in the first half. Every time HHS looked ready to make a run, they'd hit a big 3. They are a very nice team and fun to watch.

 

Decent game for the Birds. Some need to step it up more on the defensive end and they MUST take better care of the ball. Way too many bad passes and unnecessary passes into traffic and cross court. Fun game to watch.

 

Kudos to Mont co playing last night and then the Birds this afternoon.

I have seen Highlands play twice this year, and passing seems to be their weak point. They pass too much into traffic and to a player double covered.

They were missing graves. She is a non-starter but plays a lot of minutes off the bench. She is long and effective in their defense. Also a nice shooter. She's been out for a couple weeks now.

I agree. Graves is a good player! Montgomery Co is a heck of team. Your exactly right RCC9... Mont Co doesnt have a stud or allstar but they are a very good TEAM and play well together and they do the fundalmental things to the T. Good ballclub.

Highlands just can't continue to attempt to throw the ball thru people, way too much telegraphing of passes.

Seems like when they should pass they don't and when they shouldn't they do...

One thing you can always count on with MC teams; they will always play as a team. They are a well oiled machine most nights.
