chucktaylors Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I see that Oldham won another close one. I stated how tough they were in close games in my comments on the predictions this morning. They have won so many games within 5 points that it has to be attributed to good coaching and clutch plays. I saw on their yearly stats that they have only made 30 threes all year and only shoot 50% from the free throw line. Simon Kenton will learn that the Oldham teams are good opponents year in and year out. It is no fluke that they won the 8th 3 out of last 5 years.
NEERFAN Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I'm very interested in the OC/SC game coming up. A five point win to a one loss squad isn't the worst thing in the world, I guess we know a little more about the 8th after tonight's game.
RoundBaller Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Nice win, Colonels! SK has been on quite a roll lately. This must have been a very good, high energy game. Any stats?
SKNEERS Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I hate to see the Neers 7 game winning streak come to an end, but I am glad that it came to a solid basketball team.
Stripes3 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Everyone would have to agree that Oldham is a "solid team." They have yet to play any teams in the Top 30 in Kentucky and they got blown out by one of the lowest teams in the 7th Region in Waggoner. Please explain how Oldham is considered a solid team so I can declare my 16th region a solid region.

I was at the waggoner game and they are absolutely quick on quick. They would present matchup problems to any team.
NEERFAN Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I consider SK to be a solid team, wins over Bryan Station and Scott, so I guess that would make OC solid since they beat SK but that's just my opinion.

Both teams should be there come regional tourney time. The Shelby/Oldham game is looking more and more like it could be another great one, as these two teams always tend to play harder against each other. Hopefully it lives up to last year's regular-season 95-92 thriller in Buckner that saw two overtimes and an evacuation of the gym.
