Didn't make the trip tonight, but by reading the line score, Garrard played a horrible first quarter, a good second and third quarter, and then a horrible fourth quarter (although the fourth quarter scoring difference could have been made by foul shooting). The Lions trailed 22-6 after one, before cutting it to eight at the half. Garrard cut the lead further to six after three, trailing 41-35. Wayne was able to stretch out the lead in the fourth.

 

Garrard was led in scoring by Billy Abney with 13 points and freshman Nick McCollum with 12 points. McCollum has missed much of the start of the season with an ankle injury but played well against Monticello on Thursday night and again against Wayne County tonight. Here's hoping that his improved play and scoring will help give a little fire to the offense.

 

Wayne was led by Corey Stearns with 23 points and Jason Blevins with 15.
