GoldRandyPa brings you, BGP Nation, its every-other-week 10th Region Top 5 Performers list. The rankings below reflect Weeks 3 & 4 of the basketball season. Enjoy the list & tell us where we're right or wrong. thumb[1].gif

#1- Corey Holbrook (Campbell County)- The junior guard hasn't carried a Camels team without Nate McGovney all by himself, but Holbrook has produced some crazy scoring numbers. Three times Holbrook notched 30 plus points (33 vs. Newport, 31 at Amelia, & 31 vs. Henry County at Western Hills). In six games Holbrook averaged 25.8 ppg.

#2- Brent Bach (Augusta)- No one in their right mind would have expected Augusta's junior phenom to duplicate in weeks 3 & 4 the gaudy statistics he compiled in weeks 1 & 2. But the 6'0 guard came awfully close. In six games Bach netted a scoring average of 24.1 ppg, including three separate 30 point outings vs. Bracken County, at Paris & vs. Cooper at Mason County.

#3- Alex Trentman (Bishop Brossart)- The 6'6" junior helped lead Brossart to a 3-0 record over the last two weeks with consistent, stat-sheet-stuffing performances. In a 30 point shellacking of Highlands, Trentman scored 16 points, grabbed 10 boards & swatted 5 blocks. Seventy-two hours later the Mustangs big man went for 18, 6, & 5 in a 12 point win over Newport. And the next day, on his birthday mind you, Trentman scored 20 points on 10-10 FG shooting in a 69-30 win over Calvary Christian.

#4- Omar Prewitt (Montgomery County)- The do-it-all guard did it all in the last two weeks, especially with three very nice double-doubles. The 6'5" senior went for 25 points & 12 boards in a victory over rival George Rogers Clark, 14 points & 12 boards in a win over Christian County, & then 17 points & 11 boards in a third place defeat of host Mercer County in the Farmers National Bank 12 Region Showcase. But the major accomplishment came early in week 3, when Prewitt became Montgomery County's top all-time boys scorer. That is quite an accomplishment anywhere, but it's magnified even more considering the rich history of the Montgomery County program.

#5- Bryan Wallace (Montgomery County)- Wallace was fantastic in weeks 3 & 4, averaging 16.6 ppg in six games. The junior guard was especially outstanding in the Farmers National Bank 12th Region Showcase at Mercer County, piling up impressive numbers in essentially every major statistical category. Wallace's play was impressive enough to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team...the only Indians player to be included.
