Welcome home banner in the CovCath gym.

The picture on the left was taken at the 1968 Ninth Region Championship game at the then brand new Covington Holmes gym. We played and beat Campbell County by 31 points that night to win the Ninth Region!

On our way to Freedom Hall from the CovCath gym! Article from the KY post.

Note the sport coats, ties and dress pants! We couldn't go anywhere without wearing them, when we were on the road!

Which one are you TOG?

Don Fritz is in the front row, behind him is Jimmy Cooper in the second row, then Jack Bogaczyk

with the glasses on in the third row, then me.

As you look at the picture, I am on the end in fourth row on the left.

BTW listening to the game as I type this. Fun game to listen to......

TOG,

Were you #21?

TOG,

Were you #21?

We were far too good, for me to be a player. I was a manager and had a ball traveling all around the Commonwealth.

We played at Harrison County, Louisville Male, Louisville Central, Hazard and Louisville Shawnee, We played in the LIT, AIT, and of course the Sweet Sixteen. I think Jimmy Cooper said we spent something like 14 nights in Hotels that season!

For a kid whose Father died in my Freshmen year at CovCath and family didn't have a pot to pee in, it was a dream come true traveling all over the Commonwealth and eating in restaurants and meeting people from all around the state.

The picture I am in is the one from the Ky post article, as we were leaving CovCath on our way to the Sweet Sixteen!
