Ugly nite for about 90% of KY when they play Manual.

I could name about 3 teams in NKY that Manual would beat and Iam talking Boys teams...

Come on now.

13 points by a team that is supposed to be a region contender? Were they short players?

It was! Schaefer and Parton still out, we shot about 1-15 from behind the arc, and Manual is darn good! It was a combination of them being good and us not playing a good game that let this one get out of hand. Our defense was actually pretty decent, but our offense was etrocious.

We'll learn from it an move on. I can tell you that playing them will help slow the game down for us against others.

Now it's starting to make more sense.

Yes short players. Take the best player and another contributing senior off any team in the 9th region and go play manual. Also factor in a game where even the girls you did have didn't play very well. Part of it was manual and the other was us. We had a lot of open looks in the first half and made none. That's coming from a team that just made 12 threes in their game two games ago.

Your young girls will benefit by playing without them for a few games and the TEAM will be that much better down the road when it counts. Hopefully they play better today. Good luck

Honestly, that's the way we are looking at it. It was UGLY, but playing against their speed, their athleticism, height and strength should help us against local talent. I know this sounds funny, but it wasn't a terrible game to watch. HHS had several wide open looks and just could not convert! Manual did hold them to one look most times down the court and that didn't help. But we had our share of stops and steals and the girls really played hard on defense. We held them to their lowest total of the season. And besides their game against a good Tennesse team, we held them 10pts below their previous low. So there were some good things that came out of it. Once we get two of our scorers back, I'll be very happy with where we are. HHS makes it very tough to score against them. We have certainly seen our dry spots on offense against very good teams, but I'm not sure there are teams in NKY as good as the tough losses we have taken.

Dont disagree with RCC9 assesment of summary but also dont agree with all of it.

For those that dont believe that a team or program can dominate, cause the turnovers, set the tempo of a game, give their opponent the WOW factor when the State Championships trophies and all the reminders of their storied program are in the cases and on the walls, make a team think they actually played well at times but really got pounded and were never ever in it...

I welcome you to come to Ft Thomas on a Friday nite with your best team and give it a shot. A whole lot of comparisons imo when it comes to domination by association factor. I have seen it happen since 1968 in one sport and I think I know a State Champion caliber team when I see one. Just sayn....

You could have added Schaefer and I will give you two more NKY All-Stars and you still would be lucky to get out of there with a W.

All I know is there is going to be alot of sore Birds this morning.

My daughter actually told me after the game that she wished she could play Manual once a week as even know she didnt enjoy the beat down she actually enjoyed the talent and the speed of the game.

I guess she should have played AAU all these yrs. :idunno:

She plays her tail off! Fun to watch! In my opinion, there are only a couple Birds on this team that can compete in a game like that and she is one of them. Not putting down the HHS girls...there are only a couple girls in NKY that can compete in a game like that!
