Whoever thought the refs would be worse after the Magoffin vs Paintsville (their first meeting), was correct.

When the lead was cut to 6 after two consecutive turnovers was a great opportunity for a time out to re-focus the troops. "We've got this game, guys. Right here's where we win it. Keep your heads. Don't rush. Take care of the ball. (Call a specific offensive play to force the players to focus on their positioning and passing.) You're doing great! Let's go!"

Just sit back and wait on the district tourney because it will be great! The way I rate the 57th as of 1/24/06 is as follows:

 

(1) Paintsville and Johnson Central (tie)

(2) Sheldon Clark

(3) Magoffin County

(4) Lawrence County

 

With that being said, note that there is very little difference between (1) and (4). On any given night any of these teams can win against the other. The district tourney should be great with no clear favorite at all the way these teams are playing right now!

It doesn't matter who beat who where. Same thing every year. They beat each other no matter where they are!

It certainly appears so from my post. And I must admit a time out in that situation could have changed the outcome of the game. but I have absolute confidense in Coach West. I don't think Magoffin could have hired a better coach without going outside the mountains to get one.
