Should be an interesting season in the 13th Region. Also an added note — the 13th Region Tournament will be played at Harlan County High School.

The big question is if teams such as Corbin and South Laurel can make a run like they have in the past.

I picked Harlan County to come out of this region, but those four consecutive first round losses now have me questioning that.

Harlan County is pre-season favorite for sure. But they've struggled in the past once region tourney begins. The key for them is to win district tourney and draw a district runner-up, so they can get that elusive region tourney win and gain momentum and confidence. Also getting to host the 13th Region Tournament is a huge plus for them.

This is what gave me the confidence to pick them. That will certainly play a factor.

Just a tidbit - North Laurel more than likely will be without No.1 ranked player Jake Allen tonight due to an injury to his hand. He could be bask as soon as Friday, according to coach Brad Sizemore.
