Congratulations to the Montgomery County Indians who won the both Conference Championships tonight. Their frosh defeated Rowan tonight 42-6. Their JV team won 14-0.

Good luck to our conference teams through the rest of the season and into the playoffs.

Thank you to the coaches, staffs, officials, school administration, and everyone that helped to make our conference successful this year for all of our kids and programs.

Hey ChiefSmoke, is that the Central Kentucky Conference? Who is left in that conference?

I was taken aback when I read CKC because I (and you) remember a time when it was prestigious to be called the Central Kentucky Conference (CKC) Champions in any sport. But in those days Montgomery County wasn't in that Conference.

Since our conference no longer exists, I stole the name for our frosh/jv conference.

You are right. When only one team from each district went to the playoffs, the CKC was important. Although, I think the last CKC Bowl/Championship game was Danville vs. Harrodsburg in the mid-70s.

I also think we (Mercer) won the CKC in 1986. That was a big accomplishment for us in there with Boyle, Danville, and Harrodsburg.
