When was that individual instruction offered? During the season there was no communication among the coaching staff nor among the players when someone would pitch in a game or pitch a bullpen. Position players were brought in to pitch in games that had never even pitched in practice. The starting shortstop (with sore arm) pitched in jv games, really? You expect pitchers to stay on some type of schedule unless you want a bunch of hurt arms. Oh wait, that does sound like their staff.

I don't disagree that he worked with hitters but nothing close to what was needed with pitchers. If he couldn't do pitching then he should have had someone on staff. You don't know where my info comes from so you shouldn't be so quick. If I'm not mistaken I believe you didn't let your son play on the coach's summer team.

I agree with KY Thorobred 85 - 85 is not anything to write home about at a 5A school when you play Paris 2 times every year and not a powerful schedule. Not sure it was all Coach Combs or who he surrounded himself with, but I personally saw them get outcoached in several games where they had the best talent.

There were many games that came down to very close plays and decisions and whether or not a team ran rally to bring home the win. There is a lot of talent but there are too many individuals on the team too many years. It is always wonderful to win and the kids to a wonderful job when you are winning but when you loose the coach does a terrible job. Goodluck to Coach Combs at Wolfe Co. Having individuals on a team is the coaches responsibility to take care of. Best of luck to Coach Combs at Wolfe County and to Montgomery County as well.

No pitching ? Montgomery county has Hall, Gulley,Tabor and Nester pitched well last year.If Hall and Gulley stay healthy the whole season and Tabor and nester throw well there my 10th region favorites.

He has moved on...maybe you need to. I am sure that his sons will be there playing since they are at Montgomery. And, you never know what the season will bring ..Coach Combs has had teams there before....

Good luck to Coach Combs. If all the kids that played last year come back out, they should be fine this year. They only had one senior on their roster last year and went 20-11and they were in every game. They were mercied one time all year and that was at Estill and they actually had the lead in the top of the 5th when Creech left the the game with a some sort of injury. Coach Creech did a great job there so good luck to him in whatever he decides to do and good luck to Coach Combs and good luck to montgomery as well.
