Congrats to EMR 14U out of Indiana... They finshed first in their pool and 3rd overall in the 21 team "7 Game Halloween Bash" Teams from four states competed. They have a lot of local NKY kids on the team from Ryle, Cooper, Grant County and Highlands... They plated over 60 runs in 7 Games... Kids can hit.... Fun to watch

The 16u Louisville Lady Sluggers played in the Demarini Elite Fall Showcase over the weekend. I saw a TON of college coaches, mostly Division 1. A few of the Sluggers are drawing interst from Division 1 schools, and this was a great tournament to play in front of those schools. At the Sluggers games, I saw coaches from UK, NKU, WKU, UL, Memphis, Ball State, Morehead St, Auburn, Arkansas, Syracuse, Indiana, Indiana State, Georgia, and many more taking in the action.

I know that the Ohio version of the Beverly Bandits played in Florida over the weekend, but don't know any details. Hopefully, SSC will give us some details.

18u Louisville Lady Sluggers participated in Sun Classic Fall Showcase in Orlando, FL this past weekend at the ESPN Disney Complex. Great weather, great facilities and great softball. Again, I saw a ton of D1 college coaches at this event, UK, WKU, UL, Akron, MiamiOH, and many more. I beleive there were 169 different colleges and universities represented. I highly recommend this showcase to anyone.

The KY SWATT 16U Showcase Team attended the Gold Diamond Exposure Showcase in Chattanooga the last weekend in October. Considering thet they have been together a little over a month, they went 3-2 with wins over the Ohio Hawks, Team Knoxville and Southern Attack. Losses were to the Carolina Elite and Tennessee White Lightning. The 8th and 11th regions are represented very well. KY S.W.A.T.T. 16U Showcase

After checking the roster, I am very familair with all of the 8th Region kids. Good to see more kids playing travel/exposure softball. Keep us updated on the teams progress. Do they have any more tournaments for the Fall?

They played the weekend before Chattanooga in Bowling Green and used that as a warm up as they had not played an official game together. There is nothing else scheduled this fall but the summer schedule will be full. The coach is trying different combinations and evaluating what she feels is best. Once they get used to each other, the team will be extremely competitive.

Did you see many college coaches in attendance? Please post the summer schedule when it is completed.

We didn't notice any college coaches at Bowling Green but saw quite a few in Chattanooga. Georgia Tech, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky watched our night game and someone (that we couldn't determine their affiliation) was filming our batters. There were numerous other coaches there as well. With 14 fields in operation, it was difficult to check them all out....quite an operation!!

Sounds like a great experience. The exposure tournaments are fun and it's good for the kids to get used to performing while being eyeballed by college coaches. Are any of the SWATT kids drawing any interest from colleges? I have a relative that is a member of the SWATT.

I should have been more specific. Although you mentioned several schools watched the SWATT, have any schools expressed any interest in any of the SWATT players? I am specifically intersted in the 8th Region kids since I am familiar with them. I like to see all kids do well, especially the ones I know. Feel free to PM me if you are not comfortable saying it in a public forum.

I am unaware of any interest individually as of yet. SWATT is totally new and only time will tell. The coach is trying various combinations in positioning and batting order. The girls are all versatile and willing to try new things. They all have extremely high hopes of playing on after high school. I will post the summer schedule as soon as I know what it is.
