Mars had to go to a tie breaker to beat Sarah Burchell of Clay County earlier this week.

I say Jessica Baker for #1 in the 13th.

Mars played Baker last night I believe. Anybody got a score on that?

Megan Mars from Middlesboro is the top girls player in the region hands down. Ealier this season she beat Melanie Smith of Clay County 8-0. Not too mention, the Middlesboro girls are 13-0 with wins over several regional opponents. I would say the only other individual that has a chance to play Mars close is Baker from Knox Central.

 

Mars has already signed with Georgetown College.

Baker won 6-2 and 6-2 and earned the #1 seed in the 13th region tourney.

The 13th Region tournament is underway at Corbin with the Corbin boy's team in good position to repeat as champion and the girl's title appearing to be between Middlesboro and Clay Co. Corbin Freshman Lance Freeman is the #1 seed with 7th grade teammate Taylor Jones the #5 seed in singles. The doubles team of Sr. Ryan Logan and Jr. Blake Freeman are seeded #1 and the doubles team of Freshman Lee Crawford and 7th grader Brodie Freeman(not sure of their seed)both won their matches yesterday.
