Since you asked, game was 3-2 NCC going into the bottom of the 5th, but NCC could have been up much more. A really good crowd on hand at Morscher Park for this one. The parking lot was almost completely full by the end of the game.

 

Heck started and worked out of jams in the 1st & 2nd with the help of Murray catching (threw out a steal attempt of 2nd in the 1st and picked off a runner at 1st in the 2nd). It finally caught up to HHS in the 3rd when NCC plated 3 runs fueled by walks. Schultz relieved Heck.

 

HHS scored 2 runs thanks to some sloppy defense by NCC and a solid double by Schultz.

 

In the bottom of the 5th, additional wildness plated some runs but the big blow was a bases clearing double on a 3-2 count with 2 outs.

 

Murray worked a clean 6th and the Birds added a run in the top of the 7th started by a solid single by Cochran.

 

Birds face Carroll Co. at Highland Park today. Drop by, enjoy the weather, see some baseball and buy some concessions!!!

How bout JV? When I left the game, HHS was up 4-3 in the 4th. Haven't heard how it finished.
