Mike Murphy Classic at Mason County
nanatoad replied to UK Fanatic's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I wish I could have been in Maysville to honor the memory of Murph. I think there is a bit of Murph in each of us who knew him. Murph was a unique, totally unselfish man and his memory lives on. Have a great tourney and Merry Christmas -

Looks like Royals did fine except for 2nd quarter. One point is hard to understand. Royals did win 2nd half. -

Saints have a very good team led by Ryan Gallenstein and his leadership. Have scorers and every Saint plays hard. This team will be very competitive this year. GO SAINTS -

Boys 2011 10th region draw
nanatoad replied to bigblueinsanity's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
GRC is the prohibitive favorite and should lap the field in 10th region. The other teams, however, have no pressure. Each can just play hard, have fun and let what happens happen. Look out for the Royals to be posed for another run to Rupp. Gilbert has found his long range stroke and should help against Campbell zone. Pawsat is ready to play all minutes needed. Montgomery, Pendelon will be a tough challenge for Royals if they can overcome Campbell. Then look for Royal express Monday . Too bad Saints lost a heartbreaker against Augusta but look out for next year as St. Pats will be loaded and ready to go. -
Mason County 66 Bracken County 39

This was best game of the year in many respects for Mason. Neal Pawsat brings so much to the team as this is evidenced by greater intensity. MC was a little sloppy with the ball on occasion but some of this was caused by Bracken hustle. The Polar Bears have a nice team and good season. Hope St. Pats can beat Augusta for third time tonight. Always hard to beat a team three times but look forward to a Royal and Saints matchup.. Then next week the Regional. All pressure will be on GRC as prohibitive favorite. Given the Cardinals schedule and record this year have to be considered aat least 15 point favorite over any team in the tourney. Yet games have to be played. Every team except GRC can play loose and relaxed and have fun as they wont be expected to win. Will be most interesting weekend of great high school Kentucky bball. GO Royals and Saints:) -

It must be postseason time in Kentucky. Everyone well and ready to play. Mason County Royals are or will be at full strength soon. Neal Pawsat providing needed leadership and Connor Osborne ankle on the mend. St. Pat's playing well with Ryan Gallenstein over his ailments. Look for MC v St. Pat district final. Look out 10th region here come the Royals. -

Pike County Central's New Coach
nanatoad replied to Wireman's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Sumo you are so right. Kelly is an excellent coach, teacher and is superior at scouting teams. In one game last year, Kelly was able to call the plays for an opposing team BEFORE they did b/c the way they set up. In additon to all these skills, Kelly is above all a wonderful man who treats everyone respect. He will be sorely missed at Mason but hey tradition never graduates and program will move on. As far as Pike Central look for them to be really cometitive with Shelby Valley in Pike county in a few years. Best to youKelly.
