  1. DIII, DII, DI, it doesn't matter. Compared to any high school team its a totally different level of intensity in either one of the D's with cream of the crop athletes giving 110% every time they lace up and step foot on the floor, practice or tourney time. PT is always earned there. Here's one for you. Politics shouldn't put players on the floor. Now there's a stinky can of worms. You know what I mean. Athleticism and hard work ethic should always dictate, but from training league through 12th its always sad to watch it happen. No shot clock. Another reason why high school ball is so much less intense than any of the DI-III level programs. When you gain a possession you better have something in mind to do with it. Therefore it would be extremely hard for any HS team to walk in and come close to competing with a D team who's moving the game at another pace with this in mind. It clearly changes the strategy of the entire game. From another thread, I still say lets turn on the shot clock from 9th thru 12th grade, just in case there might be one who goes to the next level.
  2. If Valley continues to shoot the ball well, and not turn the ball over, I think they will come out on top 58-53. Good luck to both teams!
  3. EXPO has the same goals/rims that Rupp has. Get used to em.:thumb:
  4. The game will be won in the post, I agree. I'm anxious to see the guard matchup as well, and how the young players from Valley play against Maynard and Case. Mitchell Riddle needs to have a consistently good game for Valley, as does Maynard for Belfry for their teams to get the victory.
  5. If SV gets their post involved early, I think it will open the perimeter up as the game goes on. SV has the upperhand in the post, however Belfry has good guard play so it will be interesting to see how the young kids from Valley match up with Maynard and Case.
  6. Yeah, Why Paintsville anyhow? Allen Central or Prestonsburg would have welcomed him, and definately would have a better attitude for this young man to feed and grow on.:thumb:
  7. The better TEAM won this game. The tigers did not play like a TEAM tonight, sorry.
  8. Congrats Prestonsburg on a great season and District Championship! Winning a District Championship over Betsy Layne and South Floyd this season is truly something you can be proud of:thumb:
  9. Its so obvious that you HAVE to agree hes protected but tell us how do you earn that right? How much does it cost? He was on the line every time a SV player breathed on him tonight, especially in the last half of this game. Looked like the refs were gonna give it to the BMR but SV wouldnt quit. By the way, the 50+ he scored on SV last year was in double OT with again MUCH protection and many of the 50+ points from the charity stripe. Impresssive? I guess so. Lets take off the blindfolds and admit the obvious. The kid is an above average player but let him earn his numbers just like everybody else is suppose to do because eventually he will have to anyhow. It will make him better in the long run. Congrats to both teams for a thrilling contest tonight:D
  10. The Shelby Valley kids will no doubt chalk this one up as a learning experience too. Remember they're still very young (with an 8th grader and I think 2 freshman who both played almost the whole game tonight). How long can Paintsville use the "still young and wait until they get more experience" thing? I heard somebody say tonight that Virgie and Dorton both have talented groups moving up for who knows how many more years to come. Of course they will be young and hungry for more experience too. Theres something in the water up there on Robinson Creek:ylsuper:
  11. Yeah, too bad the EXPO Center contracts out the concessions. But Im told the non-profit groups who man the concession stands get a % of their take so you're giving to a good cause anyhow. Ask whos runnin the stand when you buy. Lotsa times its a school or church group working the stand (unless its beer) to raise money for their cause.
  12. I hope its just like the game these two played last year although that would be a hard one to duplicate. Pictures of Patrick Tackett and Kris Bently say it all... :thumb:
