  1. I didn't know there was 2 Hamptons. Just knew of the RB who is committed to UK for baseball.
  2. If one of those happens to be Hampton that would be a massive loss and a huge gain for Catholic.
  3. Is there any other players that could be transferring to OC?
  4. There are a lot of really good QB in Kentucky this season and some that are still young. I cannot remember the QB play being this good in a long time.
  5. This quickly turned into a Graves County thread lol. I just think Graves is a much better team than they get credit for. Call some of the coaches who have coached against them and ask what their opinions are. I honestly believe Western KY football as a whole is better than a lot of people believe.
  6. Well I think beating 2 teams in the top 10 should probably place you in the top 10.
  7. Not many teams play the State Champion and top 10 team in the entire state in the 2nd round either. I would say using the RPI ranking as a judge of how good a team is doesn't make much sense either. Graves was a top 10 team in 5A last year in my opinion and they proved it with some of their wins. If you were to take the #1 team and State Champion and have them play the #10 team in their class most of the time you will see a blowout especially if the lower ranked team is on the road. Even if you wanna use the RPI to judge a team on how good or "strong" you think they are only 10 teams being better than you with an interim coach and a JR heavy team I think Graves had a heck of a season last year.
  8. Whoever doesn't think that 5A football is good especially in the West does not know much about high school football.
  9. Graves was in a 3 way tie for 1st place in their district and beat Madisonville on the road who were in and out of the top 10 in 5A and lost to Owensboro at home 28-21, beat Greenwood who was a top 10 team in 5A at the close of the season. Yea they got beat by BG in the playoffs but that is a top 10 team in the entire state. let's not forget the McCracken team they beat late in the year who went on to beat Henderson in the 2nd round. I think Graves Co deserves a little more respect than what they are given in Western KY football. Heck in the last 15 years what is their record against PT especially before they became transfer U for Chattanooga players.
  10. This is starting to become laughable at this point.
  11. Talking to people in the area Graves County might be returning the most of any team in far West KY. I believe it is something like 10 starters on offense and 6 on defense. The players who will be replacing the outgoing players have started multiple games due to some injuries or other reasons last season. They also have a very good group of skill players in the freshman class who will se significant playing time this season.
  12. Why would they schedule a Louisville power when they are struggling to beat teams that are much smaller in enrollment in Western KY?
  13. You are exactly correct about the KHSAA only caring about the Louisville and Lexington schools. They have said for years that geography is the only thing they consider for district alignments. If they don't use this model for the new districts then that is a lie. Our players/coaches in Western, Central, and Eastern Kentucky are at a higher safety risk driving home late at night after these games and are spending thousands of dollars in transportation and food for their players. I just think it is outrageous that a fan was able to sit down and create districts that make sense and people that this is suppose to be there job can't do or just refuse to do because like previously stated they only care about 2 areas in the state.
  14. I would just like for this to be presented to the KHSAA just to hear what they have to say about it. They have openly said that the names of the teams have no weight in how districts are formed just the geography. Well they either can't read a map or they have been lying and trying to cater to certain regions for years. I think we all know what the truth is. Bottom line is there are rural districts in Western KY and Eastern KY that are having to pay for their travel and food out of the fundraising they do instead of being able to spend it on the kids for equipment and uniforms. Kids are having to drive home at 12:00 at night in communities that the drive home on backroads are 30-45 minute drives. This plan not only saves a majority of the 5A class a lot of money but more importantly helps keep players, coaches, and families safe from extremely long road trips. So in my opinion the ball is in KHSAA court here.
  15. After reading this and really breaking it down I don't know if you can come up with a logical argument against it. Something like this takes all human bias out of the equation and does it off of true travel distance which is what the KHSAA says they do when they make these decisions. This AI should be used to create all of the reclassifications in my opinion.
