  1. Best of luck to Cooper tonight! Happy 17th bday to Michael Spencer this week! (Youngest senior HS basketball senior I know in N.Ky.). I know you are going play lockdown D on Beechwood! Best of luck to Coach Sully & his defensive horses!!! Jags in a close one by 7pts!
  2. No doubt Sully's guys will be playing outstanding D. The Jags have been struggling offensively as of late. I hope the Jags come out on fire offensively, because no doubt their defensive has been outstanding the entire season. Best of luck & I vote for the Jags to come out with the W.
  3. McFarland resigned 4 weeks ago. He tried to resign 2 years ago, yet the administration/AD promised to help him w/ the chances needed in the athletic programs & that didn't happen. David is a class act & best of luck to him. He'll find a program & be a great asset to the guys he coaches in the future.
  4. Pouncy was a coach back in the day & I personally witnessed him take a chair to a ref. This was 15 yrs ago. We all make mistakes, yet him ref games in the region & area that he is affliated w/ AAU teams, he or his bro coaching is unethical in my opinion. He used to coach n.ky tarheels & many players played on HS teams he reffed games...he's not the only 1 Chris ref games @ St. Henry & his nephew's played there.
  5. I never said Ryle had outstanding basketball players in the program. I said there are 2 players that can play at the next level w/ is college. Soooo many parents/kids are in a fantasy world of "my kid is a D1 athlete". In reality, check the stats & % of how many kids go D1 & finish 4 years as a D1 athlete. Now mentioning the about Rankin has been offered D2,D3, & NAIA schools for basketball along with he's more than an athlete, he's a very solid academic student. He will be successful in the college world, because he & parents see the true picture... A college education & continuing to play the sport you love at a college level... That's the truth of the matter... So I'm not debating D1 basketball players in N.Ky, because there are very few. As for Benton, he has another year of high school, his family is well educated & will guide him to a college that fits his academic/athletic ability. Parents need to grow up, face the facts, quit putting their child as an idle & prized athlete & focus on education, a well rounded human being, & then consider if he/she has an opportunity to play the sport they love at a college level. If it's D1,D2,D3, NAIA, or Juco. So parents take the dream hats off of Top 10 D1 basketball schools & be realistic! Have a great weekend & dream bigger & better goals for your child than sports...
  6. Coach Mullins & Coach Rankin I'm sure would say lots the same about entitled kids from many parents. Both were excellent HS players, coaches of the game & role models.
  7. Different culture... Ryle/Cooper... Very different w/ adminstration, parents,etc... Check out the area, demographics...
  8. Rankin already has offers. Benton is 6'8 his size alone will draw attention.
  9. I agree w/ Ginn. The above mentioned prior to Jalen Scott was the 1st boy moved up in Bo. Co to play high school as an 8th grader, when in fact now as a junior you can look around Bo. co. & realize that was a mistake. I take Cooper by 15+. Sully is by far the best @ getting his guys to play in big games! Cooper Jags I look to bring home another district title tonight.
  10. There are LOTS of kids there that parents have pumped up to be Stars & think they are truly college level basketball players. When in reality only Rankin & Benton are college material. The kid suited up for Holy Cross is a product of his environment. McFarland is a great role model & coach that's been coaching a bunch of average at best players that thought/think they are potential college basketball players other than the above mentioned. Ryle is a VERY tough environment to coach in. I wish parents would open their eyes & see the truth. We all want the best for our kids, yet setting them up on a pedestal & making them think they are going be college basketball players is doing them an injustice. Coach McFarland realized this about these parents and he will go to a program school & develop a team of kids & parents that are realist.
  11. I agree 8-9 out of 10 wins go Cooper. I think all 10 a toss up.. it's always a great match up. Not sure why they continue to play it in such small gym.... BBT. I look for Cooper D to be the game changer & Jags W in a close 1
