  1. Where are all the rest of our talented NKY volleyball ladies heading for college? Anyone know? Elly Ogle - xfer to Cincinnati Morgan Hentz - Stanford Madison Salkowski (sp?) - Seton Hall Hannah Talkers - Transylvania Univ. Hayley Bush - Purdue Jessica Tapp - Georgetown College Ali Borders - Thomas More Hannah Colvin - Wright State Janelle Tobler - Bellarmine Who else??? I know this list is missing a ton of girls. Any other current juniors other than Bush?
  2. No one in region 9 gave NDA much competition this year. Next year could be the year that we see NDA get knocked down a bit. Not sure it will be Cooper that does it, but will fun to see what happens!!
  3. What was NDA's lineup? Did Buck make any changes?
  4. They did announce Pawsat (sp?) but she wasn't there.
  5. I was going to stay out of all of this and not comment since I don't have any players in this fight, but I too am friends with a Cooper parent who has shared some info..which to be fair I originally dismissed because I thought it was crazy! But here is a snapshot of what I was told...do with it what you will but don't shoot the messenger! 1) head coach sleeps on the sidelines during practice, grades papers and does not participate or run drills 2) coaches actually HATE club ball and think it's a waste of money and it only teaches bad habits - NKYVC is the worst in their opinion and told Katie Smith not to wear her NKYVC practice shirt in their gym ever again 3) they don't condition or have drills at practice - only play games and scrimmage 4) a couple girls got hurt and they told them not to go to their dr but sent them to a trainer 5) tell the girls not to tell their parents what they talk about in the locker room and only have closed practices. From what I was told they scream and tell at the girls a lot - telling an individual that they lost the game for the team and even had all the girls tell one specific player what she DID WRONG during a match and why they lost. That's creative team building!! 6)not one original player from class of 2016 remains on the team - they all quit because of the coaches. I think there are are 2 transfer seniors still playing though 7) supposedly, players aren't allowed to ask Jenna Schreiver any questions or approach her. She isn't allowed to coach them and only shags balls during varsity practice. This is sad cause setting is a huge concern for this team and wasn't she like an All-American setter in college? I could go on....but will stop and let you all discuss amongst yourselves!!
  6. That's all we get? I thought for sure you would have more than that! From the scores, looks like it was a great match! Good luck to Cooper against NDA. They will be nearly impossible to beat but maybe cooper can at least take a set from them?
  7. What's going on in Region 9 this week? Anyone have some updates? Who's looking good right now?
  8. I'm guessing it was for senior night. But regardless, with the yellow card on the student section they may re-think their strategy. They are without a doubt one of the biggest student sections for volleyball and they do a great job of supporting their volleyball team. May get a little feisty at times but they are normally a lot of fun to watch too!
  9. They don't "put" the student section there....the kids choose to be there. Every Ryle game that i have seen (home or away) the student section is large, very loud and they strategically place themselves in the bleachers!! It works and gets the Ryle girls fired up! Sounds like a great match!
  10. Judging is a perfect word for what you are doing. Well said... ANY scholarship that allows our daughters the chance for a free education (or partially) and participate in a sport they love is a true blessing. I was specifically taking about "elite" players. At no time did I mention any other division . Period. Yes, there are multiple opportunities for girls to play at many different levels . And their recruiting time lines are all different and changing. Does that validate what you are saying and help you get past this?
  11. They are very blessed - thank you! And I actually agree - elite players are extremely rare! That was my whole point! An elite setter will not normally still be visiting schools in their sr year unless something unforeseen happens. BUT.... then you had to be insulting and assume that I needed to learn more about the recruiting process? Tell ya what...when you have been through it like myself and a few others on this board, I will be more than happy to continue this conversation...so, until then "my friend".
  12. My "friend"...My comment was specific to ELITE players. And I went through the recruiting process with BOTH of my daughters. One plays for UCLA and one plays for UCONN. So yes my friend I have had experience with higher D1 and mid D1 within the last 4 years. How about you??
  13. There is a HUGE difference between being recruited and holding actual offers. "Elite" setters will be recruited and offered by their soph year or earlier. I don't doubt that she is being recruited but most elite programs or bigger D1 should have their setter for 2016.
  14. Sounds like Cooper might be peaking at the right time! Congrats on a great win!
