  1. --- Dead on ATLCat! Comparative scores on the high school level will absolutely drive you insane........ Williamsburg pounded Wayne 52-21 the week after Garrard won at Wayne by 7. Bourbon County beat Harrison County 49-0, Williamsburg beat Harrison 48-18, then Garrard beats Bourbon 32-12! Try to make some sense out of that.
  2. --- Only game this year I just couldn't make.......figures.
  3. --- I heard today we may actually have a "Grand" time.........if things go as planned.
  4. --- Jlow, you've obviously never visited BluegrassTeachers.com!
  5. --- The Central Record will probably oppose the Nick Saban hire..........
  6. --- I'm in 100% agreement on this, I just don't feel like I'm at a football game at one of those "track included" stadiums. Now, if Garrard can get that pressbox up to the top level on the home side (in the works from what I understand), I'll be very happy.
  7. --- I agree with this to a point, but remember, just because somebody is my favorite or yours, doesn't mean he's truly the overall best choice for the position. There may be another coach with very impressive credentials, too, that we don't know about. Also, the job has only been open for what, a week or so? Let's relax a little (me included) & see what happens. We just might see something this week, but that's a total guess on my part.
  8. To reaffirm, Perry & Jaggers have both applied for the GCHS head coaching job. They're 2, of at least 8 candidates, who have head coaching experience & who have applied for the position. Most of the leg work, as far as interviewing, etc., is being handled by the school's site-based council. With 17 or 18 total applicants, there's a lot of work that has to be done & done properly.
  9. --- PP92 is 100% correct with the quote above. People I've talked to would be very happy with either of those, but then, the people I've talked to either played there or follow H.S. football pretty closely. Jaggers, I think, would be an interesting & a very good choice.....not that Hodge wouldn't!
  10. --- Listen, when I played for GCHS, we pounded Boyle fairly regularly. There's nothing in the water there or nothing written in stone that says they can't be beaten. Historically, their success has been recent, before that, they were average at best. It's no secret what Boyle has been doing, weight lifting, improving facilities, making sure the younger kids are participating, good coaching, etc. If everybody took the attitude that certain schools couldn't be beaten, I guess Ft. Thomas Highlands would have been a state champion this year, but apparently Collins must have not got that memo. Ditto for Pulaski County & Wayne County, who made first time appearances in state championship games.
  11. BW, I promised I wouldn't say anything & I had to keep my word, hope you understand. And yes, you definitely "understand" what's going on, too!!! Let's hope everything holds together......
  12. I've been told today that there are 15 - 18 applicants with at least 7 or 8 that have head coaching experience. The favorite is a former GCHS coach. I can't say who told me, but you can take it to the bank. Not quite a done-deal yet, so hold on.
  13. --- BM, I must have read a comment from above wrong......I jumped right onto this page without following the whole conversation, so carry on. It has been a long cold day.
