10 Good
  1. My understanding is the game is June 11th, at Scott Highschool. Start time 7:30pm
  2. Joe Studer's dad AND step dad are both Cov. Cath grads, does that move him up any?
  3. Just a question, does Cov Cath have a person or persons on staff that write or apply for these grants or is it a volunteer position? I know they have a wonderful alumni network that I believe is a paid position. The newsletters, emails etc. to alumnus is fabulous. I believe that is a huge reason they have so much support, keeping alumni "in the know" keeps them excited and proud of their alma mater. It is hard to get that kind of dedication from volunteers these days. Just a thought.
  4. For what it is worth, coming from a "girl" , autopart101 is dead on. The Dixie d line is just that good. They are very conditioned.... Big and fast. Beechwood's QB scrambled the whole game. That doesn't mean the o line isn't trying for Beechwood or New Cath, it just means Dixie is that good. Don't get discouraged, these games will only help these two teams prepare for the better, tougher teams in their divisions.
  5. Condolences to the entire Mayfield community and team regarding the tragic loss of a classmate. This tragedy ended just past us in Cincinnati. We at Beechwood will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
  6. I watched Stringer throughout the entire All "A" tournament including a very tense last game. There were many times he could have lost composure but kept it together and was successful. Last night's game performance was fueled by a dugout that was yelling, screaming, heckling ,hitting their bats against the fences, with every pitch, all encouraged by their coach. It would be very hard for any sophomore to keep composure while being taunted publicly like that. While Ethan will have to learn how to block that out in the future, was very proud that the BW team did not lower themselves to that level when their closer was struggling. While I respect Cov Caths athletic abilities, lost a little respect of their integrity, they can win without it.
  7. Promised my boys I would never reply to a post, but oh well, here goes. As you can tell I am a mom of 4 Beechwood boys who have, are, and hopefully will play football. I only joined BGP to be able to gain knowledge of this sport that my kids so love. I knew from posted threads that theBeechwood/ Frankfort game was going to be a battle. I was glad to go in prepared to hug my boys when their hearts were breaking. While I enjoyed this site so much this season, I am disappointed at some comments made. Please realize that these kids are reading these posts some way, some how. When someone makes a comment that the Cov. Cath/ Beechwood game was men playing boys, they insult the integrity of these kids and clearly have no clue what the definition of a "man" is! It certainly is not defined as their abilities on a highschool football field. When someone starts a thread, not even 24 Hours after a heartbreaking loss for a group of boys, they only have one mission; to stir the pot, which is what happened. These kids are reading everything you all are posting. Insulting the integrity of any player or coach really should be unacceptable. While I realize there are situations that happen that involve players, coaches and football programs that the facts are the facts, I would just ask you to be careful what and how you dialog. So, I am sure the eyes are rolling, that's OK, this mama bear feels better. You can boot me off now.
