  1. excellent well done. The parents at RYLE need to take a look at this. Time for them to step up The school system will never have the funds to build it with school $ If the Raiders expect to compete on the 6A level they have to at least have a respectable weight room, one that can hold more than just a few kids at a time. Having a weight room in your locker room is not acceptable
  2. the weight room in the gym holds about 15 people at a time. It was inadequate in design (1992) from the very beginning. The football program has had weights in their locker room for at least the past 9 years
  3. from personal experience, the weight training facilities at Ryle are absolutely awful. In fact the weight room is actually located in the varsity locker room which is inadequate to begin with. Looks like that parents are going to have to take matters into their own hands if they want to improve the situation. The district is financially strapped and I am sure there are no plans to renovate or update. To say that the weight room is woeful would be an understatement.
  4. interesting side note. In 1966 Roy Lucas, Dan Goble, Boyd Phillips, Fred Bernier made up the youngest coaching staff in the Commonwealth. That group was together until 1969, when Dan Goble went to Shelby County and fred Bernier went to Mt. healthy in Cincinnati with the legendary Owen hauck. A year later Roy Lucas and Boyd Phillips went to Maimi Trrace HS in Washington Court house Ohio and in 2 years had the schools first undefeated footbal team. Small world.
  5. "everybody knows what to do with a sick baby until they have one of their own" Congratulations to Noel Rash and his staff for another great season. The future looks very bright in Ft. Mitchell.
  6. allow me to make the case for moving freshamn games back to 6:30 or 7:00. much larger crowds as parents and students have a better chance of getting to the games. increased revenue which is badly needed by all programs. Easier scheduling for buses to get teams to game site. Back in the old days when the freshman teams were at the Junior Highs, games at 7:00 drew very large crowds of parents and fans. worth consideration.
  7. lets set the record straight. Ryle's 1st touchdown was scored by Johnny Meiman on a short run, and Ryle's winning touchdown was scored by Mitchel Bateman. Colin England is one of the best young players in NKY. He is a legitimate Freshman. He is also a very good student in the classroom. This group began playing together as Union Raiders as 7th graders (33 of 45 players) They have lost three games in that time. Ryles' freshman program has benefited from some great additions from the Boone County Peewee Football league. This group has a chance to be special.
