  1. Althought Holmes, Cov Cath, and Cooper (all teams capable of winning the 9th) were on the schedule, teams such as Lexington Catholic, Bryan Station, Henry Clay, etc were left off and replaced with Calvary Christian, Paris, and Dayton. With the strength of Coach Simms schedule he may not have had a great regular season record but his teams were always prepared for post season play.
  2. Not sure who the horses are dd734 is referring to. The last I remember Pendleton County having any "horses" was the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons. Mason Monroe would be considered a horse but PC has had average to slightly above average talent since then that overachieved year in and year out with Coach Simms. I loved watching his teams overachieve and it was fun watching the last 3 years when they won 3 districts in a row.
  3. I have not heard any rumblings but then again I just watch. I'm sure Pendleton people will not be happy with missing the region.
  4. 2011 38th district finals. Pendleton was down 21 with 5 minutes to go. Mason Monroe took over the game and Gabe Antrobus hit a three at thebuzzer to give PC the win. Great ending. That team would go on to upset Montgomery and Mason Co before falling to GRC in the finals. Anyone who was there will never forget the Miracle on the Hilltop.
  5. One of the most underappreciated players in the region in my opinion.
  6. Is this whole thread a round about ways of criticizing Pendleton for wanting to host the district? Obviously the hypothetical scenario of regions wouldn't happen. There would be thousands turned away. Nicholas County last year I would venture to say that every crowd could have fit in Pendleton's gym. It was not overly crowded and I had a lot of room to stretch out in the upper deck. I could definitely be wrong on that but that's the feeling I get.
  7. I had heard they will be on the same team again this summer in AAU circuit along with a few others from the 10th and 12th region. Not sure of the validity of this but if so it sounds like it could be a fun team to watch.
  8. I know it may not be Northern Kentucky proper but a kid that deserves mention is Aaron Gibson of Pendleton County. Very quick guard who has a knack for just making big plays.
  9. According to KHSAA Riherds scoreboard Pendleton County had a 2-4 record in the regular season during the Coach Simms era. However, Coach Simms teams were 4-2 in district play winning 4 district championships, including the last 3 against legendary coach Mike Reitz.
  10. Mason Monroe's 37 points and some clutch shooting by PC had nothing to do with the win? Not fair to the other team to say that. I agree though, it should be a fantastic atmosphere. Love watching games at Cov Cath. That is a great student body.
  11. Yes. Nice game by PC. They lost to Brossart tonight 7-0. Any ideas on 10th region team. Brossart obviously knows the girls from there team but who else?
  12. Nicholas County has some good young talent. They will definitely be improved from what they have been but not sure they are ahead of Pendleton at this time. Also GRC being 9th won't be accurate. Coach Humphrey will field a team that will be in thick of things...he always does. Monroe is a top 5 player in region in my opinion.
  13. They don't come better than Austin Pyles. Kid is the ultimate competitor and a great leader.
  14. Several coaches were pursuing head coaching jobs. Tony Wise, Jay Bordas, Jeremy Miles, Tom Crews just to name a few. Anyone know if any of these coaches have landed somewhere?
