10 Good
  1. I don't know about the dangerous situation. I think they're in the best situation possible right now. They got as good a draw as they could have hoped for after losing in the District. They could have had to beat Highlands, ND, & Boone to get the Region. THAT would have been a dangerous situation.
  2. I agree Kremer had a good game. She got herself in foul trouble in the first half and didn't play much, but played very well in the second half. Conner got the lead by keeping Highlands to one shot. Highlands came back when they started getting second shots late in the first half. Conner did a good job in the second half of limiting those second chance points. Conner doesn't play a #15. Maybe you mean #12? The second guard, Allison Long.
  3. Amazing about the talking wasn't it? I know I sure needed to know who was shooting for wings at half-time. And instead of saying what was being shot for and won and such during half-time, he waits until they start playing again to let us know how many wings each person won. The same guy did that a couple quick times in the boys 1st round and I mentioned it to the AD out there at Conner after the games. Obviously didn't help. Someone cut the mic on him for the boy's game tonight.
  4. Well if DoubleDuece was that close and didn't hear the coach using foul language, unbiased needs to redefined. I don't know who the fan was, and it's very possible that he deserved to be tossed. I couldn't see him, but from the reaction of the bench it looked like something was certainly said by the fan. The coach, however, should be told to watch the language. To keep it in the locker room if that's how she gets her point across. You don't need that at a High School game from anyone. Players, coaches, or fans.
  5. Well I was in the second deck and cheering FOR Boone County, and while I've no idea what the fan said, the coach turned toward the crowd and let several bombs go during the game. I didn't her from that distance, but there was no mistaking what she was saying. She can yell all she wants. But the language does need to stay in the locker room. It is a High School game and you'd hope the stands are full of Elem, Middle, and High School students.
  6. It's set for Thursday @ Conner. Fookes and Warfield. One sits and screams, the other jumps up and down and screams. You'll hear this one no matter which game you go to on Thursday. And I just gotta say that I agree with those in the other thread. The BC coach and her staff (I think her husband) were the ones out of control Monday night, not the fan.
  7. Ryle has had a great year, but is just too inexperienced to beat Boone at full strength. The only thing that can beat Boone in that game is a Gung-Ho official. No official has called carrying on their guard all year, so it would be unfair to Boone to start calling it now. The Bradley girl is a really good player. She plays calm, poised, is a scoring threat and is THE major player for Boone. As good as Behrens is, which is probably the best inside player in the region, Bradley controls the ball and the team. She also carrys the ball on practically every dribble with a cross-over to revial Iverson. It would be unfair to start calling that in the Tourney. But if they call that, she couldn't change her game that much, that quickly and it would take Boone's game away. Ryle wins if Bradley can't play. I hope an official doesn't do that to Boone.
  8. Cougars were at full strength. Don't know if they were looking to the tourney and forgot they had a couple games left or what. Not a top 5 performance last night. Maybe that wakes them up. Congrats to HC. They played a real nice game last night. In control the whole game.
  9. South Oldham has a good ball team. Half-court team for the most part and one girl (Jones I believe is her name) who's really a good ball player. She had 30+ of the 52 against Conner. But don't count Conner out due to this game. They had to cancel the JV game because they didn't have enough healthy players and couple of the Varsity players weren't looking to well. Even with the slower than normal pace S Hodges could barely get up and down the floor. If she has her normal double-double, it would have been a close game. If everyone is healthy for the tournament, it's still comes down to four teams. BC, ND, Highlands, and Conner. Anyone else would be a big surprise. That Jones girl in South Oldham was impressive. Good Luck to SO in their tourney.
  10. It's still a rivalry, maybe not the same as in past years, but it's still one people ask about when schedules come out. Boone might be missing a couple and Conner has been playing better as of late, so it could be a good one. Plus it's at Boone's new gym, so if you having seen a game there yet this is one worth stopping out for.
  11. You're right, if it ain't close, it won't matter. But if it is, someone better tell Casey to back off in the 4th Quarter. ND needs her scoring.
  12. I agree with the running and gunning idea. But if they do that, the score better be at least in the 70's. A 57-49 game will favor Boone. If Boone controls the ball without turnovers, Conner will have a tough time.
  13. Going to SK always meant a looser called game than most places in NKY. That in itself isn't always bad, depended on the team going in and whether they could play an aggressive, rough style. But if its a close game in the 4th quarter, the calls do tend to tighten up on the visiting team. ND is an aggressive team so it shouldn't hurt them early, but look for the hand-checking by ND that's good early, to get called late.
  14. You can get evenly called games there, but if there is edge in the way the game is called, it won't be for the visiting team. Been that way for 40 yrs @ SK, I doubt it changes tonight.
