I think many people were watching the Pikeville/Raceland game to get a read on 1A, but I think we will get a better read on 1A with the Raceland/NCC game. We will know how close the race is for second then.

I think Pikeville is at top until someone proves they are better. But we do have a log jam behind Pikeville. I don’t think the question is, “has the pack caught Pikeville”, I think the pack has caught up to Raceland, or Raceland is not as dominate this season. Semantics, but the result is the same.

I doubt this is the year Raceland gets a win over Highlands. Raceland’s defense is ahead of its offense. I think Raceland’s defense will be respectable against Highlands, even though they do give up the big play. But the real bad thing for the Rams, they have trouble moving the ball. The Rams won’t win too many high scoring games this year, they will have to lean on their defense and put a few scores on the board.
