  2. Sorry about that. I was told that by someone and took for granted that they knew.
  3. Gelawn didnt play the first half for discplinary reasons. This was Scott Co. sixth game in nine days and included in that was traveling to and from South Carolina. They were very flat and did not play very good defense at all. Very tough loss. Congrats to LCA.
  4. Scott Co gets beat by the defending Nevada state champions. Guyn fouled out with five minutes to go. The Cards play Cedar Hill TX tommorow for third place. Scoring for Scott Co. Jackson 14 Pts Guyn 13 pts Euton 13 pts 8 rbs Flannery 8 pts Shotwell & Manning 3 pts Ivey 2 pts
  5. Manning had around 5pts. Ivey played around 5 min and had around 4 pts. Shotwell and Flannery are just outplaying him right now.
  6. Scott County moves on to the semi finals of the Beachball Classic. Wheeler had been to the finals of the BBC the last two years. They were led by Jalen Kenderick a top 20 player going to Memphis. This makes two top 30 teams that Scott Co. has beat in the last two days. Stats for Scott Co: Jackson 11pts 7rbs Gelawn 17pts Shotwell 16pts Euton 9pts 6rbs Flannery 5pts The best Scott Co has ever done in this tournament is fifth.
  7. Scott Co. 8. Gelawn played an ok game, still has not played up to his potential yet. He was in foul trouble for most of the game. He didnt force his shot just played within the system and how the game went. However Scott Co needs him to be great to accomplish all their goals. But it shows you that Scott Co will be very tough as they beat a top ten team fairly easily with out much help from him.
  9. He played very well last night. I believe he ended up with 11 points and 8 rebounds.
  10. So says the man from Ft Thomas. What about that football team of yours?
  11. So Ballard turning the ball over had nothing to do with Scott Co. I guess Scott was just lucky to get back in the game, or maybe Renner had mercy on his old pal Hicks. You also criticsize Scott Co. for the offense they run, but one post later you say Ballard runs the same type offense. Which you seem to have no problem with. I find it funny that people to seem to forget that they lost their best player the day before the regional final. Or a very contreversial call that happened at the end of that game. Even so Scott Co. had a very good year they were 28-4 and at the end of the season had won 24 in a row playing the states toughest schedule.I would think that would be looked at as a very good year, by any program in the state.Three years ago Scott County had the best team in the last 50 years of Kentucky high school basketball, they didnt even go undefeated. And as for underachieving, I dont think so. Remember its only December.:sssh:
  12. Scott County year in and year out are in the top five in the state in scoring. Scott Co. came out very flat to start the game, in a place that had a regional tournament type atmosphere. Scott Co. played decent defense in the second half, however the rebounding was bad in the fourth quarter. Here are a few defensive comparisons. Ballard Scott 46% FG 41% FG 35% 3point 35% 3 point 13 pts off turnovers 25 pts off turnovers 19 tunovers 16 turnovers 9 steals 14 steals By looking at these numbers Scott played good defense in the second half. On offense Scott Co. scored 25-17-26 points in the final three quarters. There are very few teams in the state that can score like that. All while playing a very tough athletic defense that Ballard can put on you. Scott County will be fine, every body said the samething last year when they lost to Holmes. All they did after that was not lose to an instate team for another 2 1/2 months.
  13. I believe Bud Mackey has to be in the top five. As much of a knucklehead he was, he was just as great a basketball player. In the state finals he put on a display that maybe has not been matched since Farmer/Houston. I believe he scored 15-20 points straight in the second half for Scott County to win the state title. I also believe Matt Walls should be on the list. But that could be me being a Scott Co. fan.
