  1. What a difference a week makes. Collins let a 4th Quarter lead slip away against Spencer County, falling 35-14 two weeks ago. With Franklin County staring them in the face, an 0-2 start looked like a possibility, and depending on who you asked, a probability. But they shocked a lot of people with a 23-0 whitewash of Franklin County, catapulting them back into the rankings and ending a three game winning streak. Meanwhile, this is the latest stop on a very tough schedule for Central Hardin. The Bruins are just 3-3, but their three losses come to the #1 teams in 3A, 4A, and 5A. They have wins over Paducah Tilghman (3A #7) and John Hardin (4A #9) on their schedule as well. 6 ranked teams in 7 weeks - it's a rough life. This should be a great test for both teams.
  2. 2016 continues to be very similar to 2015 for John Hardin, who dropped to 1-3 after a loss to 6A power PRP a week ago. So far, the only result that has flipped from 2015 was North Hardin, and they'll hope to flip another in Central Hardin, 28-21 winners over John Hardin a year ago. That ultimately became the turning point for the Bulldogs, who did not lose again until the region finals. This year they'll get Central Hardin fresh off their first loss of the year, a tough 27-20 OT loss to 4A #2 South Warren. In that sense, it will help the Bulldogs have an early read on where they fall in the 4A elite pecking order, and their last true test before Christian County in the week's final game. It's a big time rivalry in Hardin County - who takes it?
  3. So far the season hasn't started off all that well for either of these teams record-wise. They both enter 2-2, and each can thank 4A power South Warren for one of those losses. John Hardin enters on the heels of an ugly 42-13 loss to PRP, their second loss of more than 28 points on the year. Central Hardin, which ran the table in the regular season a year ago, suffered that aforementioned loss to South Warren 24-3, and will be without stud back Xavier Arnette. A year ago this game was a coming out party for the Bruins of Central Hardin, a 45-12 beatdown that was the first time they'd ever beaten John Hardin. The Bulldogs might be thinking revenge, and both will want to go above .500 on the year. Which one does?
