This also the first district game for each.

Rowan County has a new Head Coach,ShaDon Brown, & a new staff of bright young assistants that are doing a wonderful job with the program. They will be well prepared & both squads should be healthy after an open date. This ought to be a good contest.

Any updates on the status of the injured players from Fleming County ? I hope none are serious.
-
Does anyone have stats for the game?
The Ledger Independent-Maysville Ky. has a recap of the game this a.m.

Very impressive defense tonight stopping Fleming 9 times in the backfield during the first half and probably that many sacks on the QB total for the game. The Fleming QB went out with an injury after a big sack by Calton, hope he is ok. A lot of young Black Bear underclassmen play during the second half. The Black Bear Nation totaled approximately 150 at Fleming tonight despite the obstacles. Go Black Bears.:ylsuper:
Fleming looked pretty good on their first drive then when it sputtered out so did they. They didn`t have much snap to them after that. They have some good looking players , big line. Those Black Bears did a great job up front on both sides of the ball all night. A couple of times I thought they were going to get to the QB before the ball did.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 185 miles
I hope everyone had a safe trip home , that is a long drive with a late start back to the mountain country.

The Black Bears QB went out as well early in the first quarter hope he is okay.

East Jessamine done what they needed to do in the fourth quarter to win the game.
You predicted a close one. East Jessamine did a nice job of finishing the game on both sides of the ball. Coach Bowlin is doing a good job there.

I think he was talking about the officials.
Ya think ?

Rowan doesn't have five extra players like last week, so I don't think they will be close in this one.
11 young men have a hard time beating 11 young men and 5 old ones.
I know for a fact that Coach Brown at Rowan County is only 28 and as for the
other four guys on the staff none of them can be over 30 and they will all be at the game. Welcome to BGP:ylsuper:

Not only is the 4-hour bus ride going to be tough to overcome, but when you are talking about (most) high school players, playing on Saturday means staying up late Friday night.
I know Fleming County will be glad to get home for a game after dropping the last two on the road , especially last week at Rowan County they were really expecting to win that one. If I`m not mistaken this will be the third week in a
row on the road for Harlan County. Fleming lost to Harrison who got beat pretty bad by GRC then lost to Rowan last week . They were really optimistic about the season at the EKC Grid a few weeks ago,had a few games already won last week was one of them. Good luck to both teams :thumb:

Thanks Nifty & welcome to BGP.

Any news on how this game is going?

Congratulations to Coach Brown & staff on their first victory @ Rowan Co.

This will be the first game of the Rec. Bowl @ Montgomery County Saturday.
Alot of the Fleming Co. folks were feeling pretty good about their chances in this contest after the way the Panthers handled East Carter in the EKC Grid last weekend. Any thoughts or comments on this Rec. Bowl rematch?

I watched both Morgan and Rowan in the EKC Gridarama they are both young and have new Head Coaches. If Rowan gives the same kind of effort that they did against Bath Co.
IMO will come out on top. Good luck to both coaches & squads.

Thanks Hap!

Ashland vs. Rowan updates anyone?
-
Rowan County Lineman Josh Gregory signed a letter of intent with KCU & L/B Jesse Dillon with MSU.
-
Thanks for the update , hope he will be fine , wish him the best. That was an awesome catch .

It was a very entertaining weekend with 4 of the 6 games not decided until late in the contests. I commend all of the players for their great efforts & the sportsmanship that they displayed in all the games. They all played like champions.
-
I watched almost every snap of all the games & was glad to see that the players that left the games with injuries returned. I saw some whalloping hits during the contests & I hope that everyone came away with minor injury problems. If I missed anyone I wish them the best & quickest recovery.

15,690 in attendance, nice crowd on a rainy night . Great ballgame one the best that I have witnessed.

Went to Russell the last two weeks this week we`re thinking LCA / Hazard.

I agree. If they come out & play like they are capable of playing Fleming should prevail. I`m not sure how serious the injuries are from Saturday,I know there were a couple of ejections ,two linemen that they need. Left tackle a good looking player & a senior guard .
