  1. I was wondering how the young men from Rowan County is doing the ones that had leg injuries. It look like the first one was really bad hope it was not to serious and the other one is alright also.
Cory Hunter freshman TE has a broken tibia @ the growth plate & is in sugery this a.m. @ U.K. expected to be in a wheelchair for 6 to 8 weeks,I haven`t heard anything about anyone else being injured . Thank you all for your concern , sounds like it was a heck of a game by both squads.
  2. You sir are absolutely right. All aspects of the kicking game is such an important part of your offense and defense. I think that punting is really discounted, consistently it is one your longest gainers on offense and can change field position in one play. Kickers/Punters & all special teams play are such a valuable part to being a winning football program.

  3. You didn't see him the second half due to his apparent back talk with a couple of the coaches. Maybe this is the same issue Hart had?
Very likely. I remember seeing one of the coaches talking to him extensively one on one during half time. I can`t help but think that he said something to the Craft kid ,too because his play completely changed. I recall that he threw 3 more interceptions after that.
  4. Played in the first half as a receiver , saw him @ DE in limited duty. Don`t recall seeing him much @ all in the second half . He had a couple of passes thrown his way in the first half but don`t recall any catches ,made a couple of nice blocks. I feel that once he gets a little more comfortable with the offense he will be working in @ QB soon , like this Friday maybe.

  5. Both teams have some really good looking players. This is a district game & Rowan`s first year back in district play after being out for several years. I know that they wil be excited about playing in a district & being eligible for post season play. I felt bad for Greenup last week @ South Point , especially for the Craft kid . After the first interception he threw the Mahan boy walked over to Craft while one the coaches was trying to talk to him about what happened on the pick I don`t know if Mahan said anything to Craft but the coach gave Mahan the move away signal & Craft gave him a long stare. To me Craft didn`t seem the same after that . I hope to see both teams come out & play hard. I believe both teams are better than their records indicate.

  6. Derrick Green #37 for East Jessamine is good football player on both sides of the ball. He has good size ,strength ,speed, & balance . He is hard to bring down once is gets in the open field. Nice all purpose back , good team player. No showboating , ran the play back to the huddle ready for the next play looks to be a class act. If this was he is first game of the season then he is just getting warmed up & wiil be better each game. Look for some big all purpose #`s from him. #3 for E. J. is also a good back, built similar to Green ,strong runner.

  7. This is a pivotal game for Rowan`s football team. After the way last week`s game ended for them I feel this game will tell what kind of team that they really have. I know that are much improved over last season have several seniors & a good sized line but this game will tell how much heart their team has . Last week Fleming ended up with 15 first downs to Rowan`s 6 . The second half Rowan`s line did a poor job of controlling the line of scrimmage. If they don`t do any better job this week than last & with the return of the young man from AL will make it tough to win not only this game , but ever game for the rest of season . Their line has to be much more physical on both sides of the ball.

  8. This should be a really good contest. I have seen both teams play and they look really evenly matched. Nicholas got behind to Fleming by 14 in the EKC GRID, but came to win by 2 touchdowns. Fairview is playing much better than when I last watched them and being at home may give them the edge.
