This was supposed to be a statement game for the Bengals but the only statement I saw was from Ravens. If I were picking them today I dont think the Ravens will make the playoffs.
You guys know Im definitely a Steelers fan but maybe I didnt explain myself well. The Bengals are a solid team that can beat anyone. Carson Palmer gains confidence with every play and is working his way back to pre injury form. I think they defintely make the playoffs at this point. The Ravens have played a couple solid games this year but this is not the same Ravens team. You can pass on them and now they can be dominated up front which in previous years just didnt happen. I didnt need a statement from the Bengals but for the Ravens to come out and lay an egg in a game they needed and wanted to win badly said a lot.

It hurts but it is the truth. Any UK fan who thinks UL cant win the GAME this season is delusional.

Big Buck taken in Pike County already also. 18 pointer with 9 inch drop tine. Rough score at 198 with 24 deductions. Waiting on a drying period to be over for official score. Killed on opening day of black powder.

There are cats similiar to that in Ky. No fuzzy pics or dead deer involved but I saw it with my own eyes. Ky fish and wildlife at the time said there was no such animals in the area which made me chuckle. I think now they have confirmed their exsistence. They tried to tell me it was probably a bobcat but when the thing trotted away its what looked like a 3 ft long tail was standing up kind of like a house cat will do.

Only saw the last 2 minutes of the first half. Didn't realize most of the yards had come on return yards. I just saw the stat they put up mid way thru the 3rd quarter.
No problem. I actually noticed it during the game on TV they were calling it like 16 TOUCHES for 150 yards which is a little misleading. Still Cobb is an all around great football player. I think State just thought if they could contain him on the long runs they could win.
-
Cobb had over 140 yards of offense and a TD. I don't see how you say Miss. State stopped him. UK just went away from using him in the 2nd half, and I still think it had to be due to him being injured.
Cobb had 49 yards offense from scrimmage. 8 carries for 17 yards and a touch and the other 32 receiving. He had 142 return yards. So yes In my opinion State came in with an excellent game plan and stopped him. These stats came from the game center at UK athletics.
-
My fault, you want me to echo what you're probably going to read everywhere else about how Dixon gashed the crap out of the UK defense? Forgive me for expressing the #1 thing on my mind at the point.
And yes, I'm blaming a true freshman's decision making. They lose the right to blame the fact he's a true freshman when they have a junior QB in Fidler that has at least every bit the tools at current that Newton does.
The reason your going to read over and over about Dixon is because that is how State won period. Who is they?
-
Cobb is great football player and will always get decent numbers but there is no surprise left. SEC defenses will try to keep him from those long 40 plus yard runs. Until Ky stretches the field. State came in with a great game plan tonight.
-
Teams that don't take chances don't win big football games.
agreed :thumb:

Didn't Cobb run the offense on the late drive to win at Auburn? I have no idea (unless he's hurt) as to why he wouldn't be under center at least some on that last trip down the field tonight against Mississippi State. You have to find a way to get the ball in his hands.
UK is to tight to let him throw and State was crowding the box and playing the run. UK not willing to take chances to loosen the defense.
-
I have 3 kids. Have you guys ever seen a parent at the park who cant let their kids enjoy the playground because they over protect and just wont let them play.
UK coaches = nervous parent
Newton= kid
-
Pretty easy, they got no points in the redzone and MSU took 5 minutes off the clock. Watch the replay, he had a wide open WR in standing in the end zone too.
I think the kid is going to be good, but he cost them tonight. Actually, conservative playcalling and the rush defense cost them. Worse case scenerio you throw that ball away.
The play was set up to Cobb which was covered and the rest he was running away from defenders. Then he ends it with a poor decision.
-
Im sorry guys and I may get beat up over this but I dont see how you can blame this game on Newton. Our Offense as a whole barely played well enough to win which is what weve done all year regardles of whick QB plays. Our defense got humiliated and steam rolled. We got lucky on their last drive the they quit giving to Dixon between the tackles because we would not have got the ball back.
-
As a rule you generally dont win when the other team rolls 500 total yards on you. They came in with a good game plan against Cobb and executed. Cobb still had decent numbers but they contained the big play.
-
100%, Newton is not the answer. The coaching staff deserves a huge amount of blame for this one, but the point stands. He's a stone in the pocket most of the time, and I just don't like his decision making at this juncture.
Are you serious? You watched the game and this is all you can come up with? Blaming a true freshman's decision making......CLASSIC UK FOOTBALL POST.

Maybe someone else can confirm but I have been told he has committed to the Cards a few minutes ago. No details as to walk on or scholarship.
-
My understanding is that Pitino said Justice reminds him of Travis Ford, but said Justice does alot of things better than Ford. They stressed to him that they really need a backup PG. Pitino said they are in the worst shape at PG they have been since he's been a Louisville. They commented that his quickness impressed them, and they really like that he is so strong with his left hand dribble.
I would say thats pretty good info.
-
Pitino did make it today. He had two people with but I was not there to know who they were. They stayed through the entire practice and spoke with Elijah. What I have been told was they liked what they saw and want him to come in on an official visit. They did not talk offers, walk on or scholarship. Pitino told him they would discuss that stuff on the visit. Again I was not there.... just told this tonight from someone that probably knows.
