I guess my point was that most knock SV by saying they cant play against teams with superior size and athleticism. I have never said they are unbeatable but I do believe they are better than some believe.

It doesn't matter how athletic Miller Grove is ... how good of a team are they? Their schedule and record indicates that they're not as good as Eastern or Lawrence North.

I watched all the teams mentioned in your post plus SV play in person on Dec 14th. Im not forming my opinion by looking up records on the internet.

Guys I think we all know SV shouldnt be #1. I think Ballard has earned that title. A lot of the teams within 2 hours of SV are very bad and SV is going to beat them badly which will keep them at the top of these type of rankings along with Cantrells.

Miller Grove was a very solid win for SV. MG was every bit as athletic, long and quick as Eastern or Lawrence North. Justice torched them for 32 and MG tried to defend him with everything but the kitchen sink. Coach Booher has really dropped the ball with the schedule the last few years. SV finally has a team and one individual player who can play against top in state competition and he insist on the vacation tourneys. Of course that is just my opinion and he is the coach. I have seen the other teams in the state play and Im not going to argue on this board as the Elliot County fans did last year. There are a lot of good teams in the state this year and being in the top 5, 10, or 15 is an honor to a mountain school who has to fight and claw to get any recognition on a state level. SV can help itself coming up by winning the Mountain Classic this weekend and making another good run in the All A. They also have a game coming up with Christian County. Rankings are fun to talk about but if anyone thinks SV and Justice cant beat anyone in the state they are mistaken IMO.

Bengals limp into the playoffs and the Jets get in because they played teams the final two weeks that really had nothing to play for....sets up for an ungly game. I think the Bengals will win.

No test. Money from coal has driven the University of Ky for a long time now. Just saying she may not receive the warm welcome now as in years past.

With her outspoken views on coal mining and mountian top removal Im going to guess that she wont be around Ky to often unless its to lead a protest of the new Coal Lodge.

Honestly guys watching the game I thought it was a horrible call but if you listened to Tomlins Post Game. He said he had watched the game and first of all he thought they had a great chance to recover because of the surprise and second he had watched both offfenses march up and down the field in the second half and wanted his offense to have it last and guess what he was right. The defense couldnt hold just like all year and then you get the ball back and Ben wins it. This is definitely not Steeler football but now all they need is a win next week and the rest of the division leaders to win and the last game with Miami may be for the last playoff spot.

I think there will be other schools to call also but he really likes what the Lousiville coaches are telling him.

Final from last night at the East Ky Expo.

Great game Eastern led most of the night but North took over late in the game led by Chandler and Taylor. These two were impressive. Eastern has a very good, athletic team but was giving up a lot of size and it eventually took its toll.

The game started with Justice penetrating and dishing. Miller Grove tried to go to a zone trap to force the ball out of his hands and it didnt work. Then the they tried to press and deny him from getting the ball. Miller Grove was much bigger and IMO could have pounded it inside and probably won but they stuck with the press and Justice torched them. These were long, quick athletes and Justice dribbled through their press with ease. In the second half the Lousville coaches would just look at each other and laugh and shake their heads at some of the stuff he was doing with the ball. He capped that off with five straight 3's. The Miller Grove coach must have tried to defend him with at least 5 guys and Justice broke them all down on the dribble. I love his game and I dont deny that but last night may have been the best game I've personally saw him play.

Bruce Arians has been terrible for a couple of years. Because of the Super Bowl people forget that the offense under acheived last year for most of the season and the defense saved them a number of times. Then Ben gets hot the defense does their thing and next thing you know their the Super Bowl Champions. I remember telling a buddy of mine that Super Bowl is going to get us stuck with Arians and he said maybe someone else will think hes good and steal him from us. I think Arians and anyone who had anything to do with Special Teams should be the first ones evaluated in the off season.

What has happened to the Steelers?

A few observations..

1. Their not physical on either side of the ball.

2. Poor tackling

3. Poor blocking

4. Numbers 2 and 3 are a result of number 1.

5. If you factor in missed FG's, return yards and TD's against us this very well may be one of the most horrendous Special Teams units in the history of the League.

6. Cornerbacks have 0 INT's.

7. Every pass play does not have to be a deep drop and a 40 yard strike.

8. Refusal to grind out the running game (Mendenhall can play!)

9. Selfishness

10. Mental mistakes in the 4th quarter.

Well...dont really know what to say. I think this is the way a lot of the 15th region games are going to be. Justice played as expected not going to guess at stats I will add when I get them. Interested in seeing SV play a good Miller Grove GA team on Saturday. IMO still some questions to answer on defense against a quality opponent. I will tip my hat to Sheldon Clark they played very hard and though frustrated they didnt quit.

Im guessing SV by around 20.

This is stupid to post but after being traumatized by another comeback loss I have done some checking and if and trust me that is a "if" the size of the state of Pennsylvania the Steelers win out. Say Denver has the first wildcard and we are playing for the six seed. Jacksonville has Miami, Indy and New England left so they could lose a couple of those and the Ravens lose another one we could slide into the six seed. There is still a fourth of the season left.

Now to be negative again......can we win another game?

Those of us that have been Steeler fans for years have struggled through bad years but the way they are have lost this year is painful and stuff we have just not seen before.

The Steeler fans bashed our lost to Oakland really bad because a lot of Bengal fans bashed their lost to the Chiefs earlier that same day. By the way the Steelers only have 6 losses. The AFC is really crowded right now, so they are far from out of it. I mean I guess we haven't learned our lesson still from 2005 when some of my fellow fans said all kinds of stuff about the Steelers after we beat them and basically clinched the division. They were the ones who ended up getting the last laugh though. So no reason to say anything, until after this season is over and hopefully the Bengals are holding up the Super Bowl trophy.

It's official. The Bengals need 1 more win to clinch the division, pending on just one more Baltimore loss.

It was almost an exact replay of the Chiefs game. Steelers drop a game clinching interception and the opponent makes you pay.

You guys get to watch Holmes and I do not being from Eastern Kentucky. This is not a question of talent. But come tourney time PG play is so important could this haunt Holmes later in the year?
