I actually like it better when there was about eight or nine elementary schools in the GC system. More kids got to play at the different locations. Your kid gets cut in 7th grade middle school sometimes they don't ever return to organize BB.:thumb:

I just talked to a parent of a Clay Panther(which is where Ward is now) He said about 75 percent of the Basketball Parents says "We can have him back!" LOL:D

Well, when you have two coaches for three teams equals not enough personnel to go around. Three boys teams, three girls teams and GC cheerleaders need more gym space. I believe only freshmen boys BB practice was cancelled. I would lay the burden on GC admin. to appoint interim Freshman BB coach. It didn't help when Tony Tharp decided to set in the bleachers instead of the GC bench when Hicks got suspended. But Tharp was trying to make a point and show his support. Which is his business. GC needs more facilities, one gym and one baseball field is not enough. I also noticed when GC was playing Russell, they had like five coaches on the bench. GC had two coaches. Let me say I am very close to the GC Freshman team. Same group that came thru Mckell Middle 8th grade last year. You could count their wins on one hand last year at McKell. I wouldn't judge Coach Sutton from that group of Kids.

There are way too many stories going around to tell which ones are the truth. But one I believe is that KHSSA told GC Admin. "Do something who your rebel coach before we do". That is the only way I figure something like this went down in the middle of the season.

From what I have gathered Coach Sutton didn't have of part in the Hicks down fall but I think Coach Smith is a different story. Time to move on and get behind Coach Sutton. I hope he brings a little different offense scheme to GC. Like someone else said in another post give the ball Mitchell Brown. GC needs some inside play.
