  1. So there was a very talented player who chose not play high school soccer or club soccer? That sounds strange.
I can definitelly see the thought process. Club soccer is a totally different world that high school soccer. There is so much more competition and exposure that the girls can get. However, nothing can take away the experience and memories you make of playing with your high school friends and team mates.

  3. Tibbs should be fun to watch, but she will also need someone to give her the ball. Benzinger is a good 3 point shooter, and you also have Pelle who will be a guard as well as Kraft and Emily Davis who will be a difference maker. I am not sure about the bench players. Scott is a very young team with only 3 seniors and 4 juniors.

  4. So, what grade will these transfers be in? Are they high school age or middle school age, and will they have to set out a year, or are their parents moving to Walton Verona School District. I think it is great to see that a smaller school like Walton Verona has so many people interested in and supporting their girls basketball program.

  5. "Scott looked like they only had one girl that could shoot the ball. Wait a minute she shot it every time." So, what would have been your suggestions, should she have just stood out there and dribbled the ball the whole time. Scott had a very young team out on the floor, and were missing some key players last night.

  6. [she will be helping coach from the bench this month. She is doing everything now but compete. No brace, full strength & just about ready to go. She plays soccer as well & will be playing this season. Another month of healing time is the plan. She will have the green light, no holds barred on July 16 & will be making her debut in some basketball stuff in July. Very motivated young lady! She has done an amazing job rehabbing

Good to hear, it sounds like she is doing very good. I am looking forward to seeing her play this year.

  7. I have heard much the same as you have as well as possibly 2 or 3 other schools in the NKY area as the school year comes to a close. As I get more info I will be sure to pass along.

Is there a certain time after basketball that a coach is notified that they will not be returning the following year. I wasn't sure how this was handled, or does it vary by school?

  8. I feel for the kids, I am sure they did not want to "get drilled" The random draw is an issue but it is not these girls problem. I have read many of your other posts and I know that you are probably just commenting on the blind draw issue.

Good Luck to Dayton and also to NDA as they get to move on at regionals.

Nice post, and best of luck to both teams.

  9. I wouldn't say that CCHS overachieved. We shouldn't have lost to them in the first round, but they definitely didn't overachieve. I'm pretty sure they returned 4 starters and only managed to go 12-12 heading into the tourney. I looked on the KHSAA website and saw they only beat one school all season long who ended the season with a winning record. That's not exactly what I call overachieving. It sounds like they also blew a huge lead against Brossart the first time they played. Now look at Scott's record. WE UNDERACHIEVED!!!

I could not agree with you more, skylinesteve. I really thought the Lady Eagles would do much better than what they did.

  10. Once again, Scott comes out on the losing end of this one. Nice team work by Campbell County. It has been a long year for the Lady Eagles. Best of luck to the 4 seniors from Scott. Definitely a nice game played by Kiki Brown. What a nice way to end your last year. I am sure this is not how your wanted it to end. Best of luck to the Camels as they play the Brossart Lady Mustang's.
