  1. I never said they were walking the halls of Campbell Co. high school. They have several feeder schools that they compete for kids along with other catholic high schools. I went to catholic schools for 12 years. They have to recruit and retain kids to survive. Butts is seats mean tuition dollars, that donations, and fundraisers are what fund the schools. Why is it:confused: ok for GRC to get transfers but not PC?

  2. I agree with congratulating GRC with no strings attached if they indeed win it. Do the same with PC for 05. I assure you PC congratulated GRC after the defeat last year despite having two "transfers" in the lineup. Brossart should have a tough team this year no doubt. They may even win it as well. IF they do I will congratulate you Mustang with no strings attached, even though every player and student in your building is recruited because again that is what private schools have to do to compete. not just for basketball but for survival. Jog your memory a little further back to 04 MCIT PC beat Brossart 69-62 without Elliott and Brossart had Rhoden who I believe was 7' tall.

  3. So mustang if and when GRC wins it this year will it be only because of Jones and Rogers transferring in from Fleming County. They knocked out PC last year and no one from PC complained about it. Catholic schools recruit every student they have by nature. It is how the exist. One public school gets a transfer student and it is an AAU coup?

  4. these recent posts by all are right on. From 1954-1980 Ashland won 13 region titles or every other year. From 1980-2006 Ashland has won 5 Region titles or every 5.2 years. Consolidation, enrollment dropping have all contributed to this cause. Flynn also did a great job. He was in in region finals 6 times in 9 years. Hard to dispute that. He also was Ashland's longest tenured coach at 9 years. Give the man his due. Was it time for a change? Probably. Will Biggs win the region every other year? Probably not. Can he win it once every 5 years like has beeen the trend the last 26 years. Probably. I think GIAT is right on hopefully the program will get a shot in the arm and move back to Rupp soon. Let's not forget their are other really really good teams int he region.

  5. Why are you opposed to it and why shouldn't they accept the deal. They want to play so bad they should take what they can get this year and then negotiate a more traditional deal with home games for each school. Correct me if I am wrong but home teams get the gate. I can't see Ashland asking RH or anyone else for that matter for a cut of the gate. This should be abou:sssh: t kids not money.

  6.  I have a feeling that God Is a Tomcat is right. Game will probably happen everybody just needs to be patient. Let the coaches and administrators work it out and see what happens. From what everybody is saying on here there are contractual issues involved and sometimes that takes awhile. If the coaches really want to play my bet is that it will happen. Then maybe everybody will quit trading barbs and talk about the game.

  7. Scooterbob sorry but Madison Central is a serious threat to win it all if they can make it out of the tough 11th region. Manual is always top-notch just cannot get by Ballard or Male in the seventh. Highlands is a power every year in the balanced 9th region and Franklin Co. has their entire roster back except for maybe one player. Knott Central has 4 starters back. Very tough AIT as it always is.
