I couldn't agree more BirdieCat. The Busa family is outstanding! Charlie is one of the funniest guys I know and a great, great Dad. Hey, Charlie is a great announcer but Manual HS really needs to get him involved with coaching football. He is very passionate about football and works great with the kids. Charlie (if he had time) would bring a lot to the already excellent freshmen staff they have at Manual HS.

What? Don't you think your assertions regarding the apparent lack of knowledge of the KHSAA rules in this situation are equally insulting to both Coach Lampley and Coach Donhoff. I am not sure that I know two more competitive men than these two very talented athletic directors and I am quite confident that the primary concern on their collective minds was the relative safety of the athletes and the fans. Are you suggesting that either of these men would sacrifice safety for the sake of a win or to satisfy tradition. This was a non-district game (albeit a very big game) and as such the risk benefit of continuing the game under those conditions was poor at best. I can assure you that it is much more important that St. X beat district opponent Manual this week than it would be to satisfy you to play this game on Monday. Finally, I don't care what sport you play it is impossible to "accept" a no contest in any circumstance when you have worked your tail off to compete for as long as both of these teams have only to see the outcome end up as an anomaly for people to banter about on BGP. About your final comment regarding your T and X friends, since I assume that those T and X friends were not wearing equipment Friday night I'm quite sure that their opinions are not representative of the feelings and heartbreak expressed by the players and coaches on both teams. I can assure you that they all wanted to finish this game!

Correct me if I am wrong but, did a X guy and a T guy agree on 5 out of 6 stipulations regarding the St. X - Trinity game? WOW... my monitor just flashed! In some circles that may be considered a miracle. :thumb: Male certainly is tough and X will certainly be challenged without Anderson however, Anderson does not represent the only weapon on this team and I am confident that other leaders will emerge. My recollection from the "deluge game" is that Deuce had gained several yards and was carrying a couple of Shamrock tacklers when the ball was skillfully punched out by a Trinity defender. Great defense! Clearly, Deuce has demonstrated that he can run the ball. Ball handling is a correctable technique and I have no doubt that all of our backs will rise to the occassion.

Can we all agree on the following stipulations? 1) Both St. X and Trinity agreed to end this game as a "no contest" and that the "winner" was only determined by the rules. The AD's and coaches intended that this would be a "no contest" result and understood that it could not be made up later in the season. 2) Players on either team would have finished this game in the parking lot if given the option just to prevent the speculation and projections that fill this thread. This situation does not serve either team. 3) St. X did not execute on offense or defense for 10+ minutes. Trinity seemed to execute their game plan with precision and certainly took advantage of St. X mistakes in the first 10 minutes. 4) The outcome of any high school football game can rarely be projected on the first 10 minutes of the contest and 10 points certainly does not represent domination. 5) ESP and psychic predictions are generally accepted as unreliable by the scientific community. 6) Both of these outstanding teams from St. X and Trinity will meet again in the playoffs and all questions will be answered.
