  1. Playing games on paper and on here is a lot different than playing them on the field. MC has established themselves as a contender in years past and Lincoln has certainly earned a lot of respect this season but GRC and Montogmery Co. can't be counted out just yet. A little success makes you hungry!!!!! Let''s take it one week at a time.
  2. I thought discussions were intense on the football forum but this is pretty serious!!!!! I am originally from a "lesser" region, I suppose ,(the 12th of old) where gyms are just normal size-- and we had to get there early to get a seat! I think it is pretty narrow- minded to think that a school "deserves" to host it every year. Shouldn't matter where you live in the Region, all the athletes deserve post-season memories in their own gym. In softball this past spring, Montgomery & Clark drove to Campbell Co. (approx. 2 hrs) {in softball, District & Regions ROTATE each year} to play each other for the chance to go to the State tournament- we practically followed each other there! Did we like it much- no- but both teams were glad to be playing for the Regional championship. I am not a Montgomery fan but hats off to them for trying to make things better for their teams- and the other teams/counties that will benefit from it. I went to the Fieldhouse to watch Mason & Clark play for the Reg. Championship- and wasn't as impressed or comfortable as I expected to be- so why not give someone else a chance?
  3. Sometimes it's hard to understand where you are coming from . . . . . .
  4. GRC fans, we believe in our guys just like Montgomery, Lincoln, Central- and every other school that's in-- let's show some class on here- and on the field and in the stands on Friday night.
  5. I thought this thread was about GRC and Montgomery Co.- and the game Friday night. If you want to talk about the woes of #15 or other players no longer with the team, start a new thread. The GAME should be a great one - with the winner facing a tough Lincoln Co. or Madison Cnetral team. Good luck GRC!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Good luck to the 2006 CARDS!! Keep up the GREAT work for this year!!!!!! Make Friday a night to remember. You can be the first team in a long time to win a first round playoff game- make your own history!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I thought the same thing while at the game- it was great play-making on both sides! GREAT JOB GRC!!!!!!!! Let's keep on winning!!!!! EVERYONE did a great job tonight!
  8. Kinda like Danville-Lincoln and Lincoln-Boyle Co.- back in the day!!!! Things were very intense between the two student bodies when GRC played at Montgomery during the regular season. Should be a great game with the Cards prevailing.
  9. My time to buzz- Obviously, I am NOT a Coach or I'd be at the field right now getting my team ready for the game. You know, you don't have to be a Coach or a player or a fan with an "ulterior" (or bad) motive to support high school football. I am neither a Coach or a player (but thanks for thinking I might be)- but I have been around high school sports probably longer than you have been on the Earth. You don't have to attack someone just b/c you disagree and they happen to agree with someone else. I am a Cardinal supporter but b/c of my history, there are other teams I want to do well. I am not going to get into a spitting contest with you -- but the way you hate on DoodleBug, sounds like you might be a "wannabe" or a "was been"- so maybe that's why you get so upset . . . . . . ::
  10. You obviously haven't spent much time around other programs to know there is a difference.:thumb:
  11. Hey, YOU were the one who mentioned #15 and #42 in YOUR original post- just responding to that one!!!:thumb: It's all good, my feelings are just fine. You're right, every player mentioned deserves ALL they have worked for this year- and I hope their Senior Night is a highlight reel. Do the players involved need to learn to make better decisions or did he get a "bad deal" all those other games he had to sit out?
  12. I couldn't have said it better myself, Doolie!!!!! GO GRC!!!
  13. :scared: You're right, #42 is a great back and I'm sure will have the night every senior deserves :-)
  14. Since when? You know, there are some counties that actually do support their coaches and players- I've had the pleasure of being involved in several of them. Doodlebug, I believe you have also been a part of programs who support/appreciate coaches and players- am I correct? DS1, just give props where they go, man!
  15. That's funny b/c last week you said you weren't a GRC fan.:creepy:
  16. I think GRC will be ready & waiting- no one wants to lose on Senior Night. I think this team is focused and will be prepared.
  17. QUOTE=Da Secret 1]I'm a fan but I'm just being real. I read your post and it was funny it was cute and made me crack up  I do want GRC to have a good season through all what's going on Fan of what? Making accusations? You say all this stuff about the GRC coaches but then you don't repsond when asked about them. You have not expained how players get special privileges, how #15's talent was wasted, how the coaches don't know anything, or anything else nasty you have said about the program. In one post, you say GRC will win and then the next you say there's no way they can. Is that your way of being cute? I think it's silly but your posts sound like you have personal experience with the program. Or do you just want it to sound that way? You should probably pick a side and stay on it. I's funny how you always say things about the coaches but never anything about the players on the field- except the ones making poor choices. From now on, you should probably do what this site is supposed to do- support high school football- not bad mouth it. GO CARDS!!:walk:
  18. Your comment directed at me is inappropriate on this forum- sounds a little personal to me- especially since you don't know me. I also think Doodlebug is correct- but not just about "us" not being coaches. I find it truly amazing, DaSecret1, that anyone would get upset by me, or anyone else, defending coaches-especially when you only seem to be upset b/c a couple of players with a long history of problems got kicked off. Could you tell me your definition of special privileges??????? I think players sometime earn special privileges- by staying out of trouble and by having enough respect for adults to actually listen and learn- and by making their way onto the field each and every Frday night. Sometimes you sound like a GRC fan and other times you don't-- so which is it? :scared: Even when I disagree (GASP) with the coaches, I am still a fan b/c when it comes right down to it, it's about the players. I want all the guys to do well- I am planning a long "second" season.
  19. 2 of the 3 have had problems for a loooong while . . . . .
  20. I'm not sure this is a fair statement. Are you saying that GRC is the only team with problems? It appears that some people would like to focus on the bad and not the good things that are happening with the program and the players.
  21. He played last week in a cast all padded up so I imagine he will be still be good to go this week. He's a tough kid!
  22. It is my understanding that #15 has had difficulties his whole high school football career. Out of the 7 games this year that he was on the team, he only dressed maybe 2 of them b/c he was being disciplined by the Coach or was academically ineligible. Apparently #34 has also had some of the same difficulties. As for #8's status, I cannot speak. However, it seems that the history of #15 and #34 warranted their release from the team. It was stated in an earlier post that #15's talent was being wasted on the sideline-who was wasting it? That said, this forum is not to question players, especially ones that are no longer playing- or coaches who are doing what they as adults feel is best for the TEAM. The purpose is to focus on the positives of high school football and the achievements of young men who want to contribute to their high school tradition and learn things to take with them after graduation. If high school football is ultimately the only good thing a young man has that can speak to his life, then he has peaked way too early in life.
