You got one thing right, yeah the qb wasn't getting help from the offensive line lots of the night...but the starter played the WHOLE game, his jersey got torn and he just had to change his jersey/number.
-
So does everyone assume MCHS has a new starting QB, or will Hope try and start again????
-
To be fair, Madison Central is a pretty good 6A team. However, they had one of their best players out, their best other player was injured early, their starting QB got taken out, and the backup may have just made himself the new starter. Nice depth.
Didn't Isaiah Kavanaugh come back in the game though?
-
I didn't realize Keyshawn wasn't back from his foot injury. He got it playing basketball this summer (as he excels in bball too) but was expected to be back by now..
I thought this was probably the injury you had referred to this week....
-
Does Caleb Morris play for Southern? I think he is a sophomore?
Yes, but don't know his position.
-
It will be played at Mike Holcomb Complex can the Bobcats get a victory, and get their season started as most think they will.....:thumb: :ylsuper: :dancingpa
Is the Mike Holcomb Complex at Breathitt co. High School??

A starter, and key contibutor IMO, is out for the year with a torn ACL is what I'm hearing....
Is this true? or a rumor?
-
Madison Southern by a Td.
-
I've heard whispers of Southern's best player being out for this one. Any truth to this?
NO!! All of the starters are definitely in.....

What does "IMO"mean? I can't remember. Can you share who has an injury or his position yet? That is bad news....for any kid for sure.

^MC is one of the few teams in the state that has as much, or more, speed than Danville year in and year out. Heard some bad news on the MC front today, I'll post more when I can confirm....
Yep, let us know.
-
How much has the Hope kid improved because I seen him against a few teams last year and he didn't really impress me. Still D-ville 28-6!
but somehow he is listed in the top 50 in the state in the Lexington herald??
-
Another top player in the state is Zach McGuire QB of Madison Southern and he should have been listed in the top 50. But the good thing is these guys have a season ahead and this was a preseason listing.
-
I am looking forward to this scrimmage tonight
HOw did the scrimmage go...Madison Central and Boyle
-
^MC and Boyle County have scrimmaged every year since 1999.
MC scrimmaged Louisville Iriquois last Friday.
oh, never heard of that team.
-
who did madison central play in last weeks scrimmage?
-
Does Caleb Morris play for Central? He would be a sophomore. I heard that he is pretty good. It may be Madison Southern though. Just wondering.
Caleb plays for Madison Southern, don't know much about him, not sure if he starts.

yep....and I agree. That has been a problem with Southern....they have talented players but haven't had the depth needed, but they did pull out the win that game. And it will be good competition for both teams this fall.
Injuries happen and if I remember correctly KC was without a starting running back for that game. If you want to be a considered a playoff contender you must develop depth and bring your A game everytime. Regardless, it will be decided in October. -
No actually MSHS had some injured players for that game....and no sense going into those details now... But we'll see ...should be a good game between Knox and Southern.
QUOTE=Pepper II]There was a reason MSHS played a bad game last season. They ran up against a young KC team that was just beginning to come into it's own. The outcome will be different this season and others to come. In fact, I liked what I saw coming out of McCreary last year and I predict Southern will sit out the playoffs once again.
-
4A District 7.....I see this district different. Madison Southern will be in the finals, will beat Knox Central(like last year and Southern even played a bad game)and will beat McCreary. Madison Southern played last year after losing at least 15 starting seniors (many started both ways). This year they have only lost about 5. Defense was the problem last year but now these players have more experience.I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have a great season. Also, just heard they hired a good defensive coordinator (former college coach),so I'm hearing they are looking better. Also, got a top quarterback, Zach McGuire, leading the offense.

Just a quick note of observation to any senior that might want to spend their camp time at Eastern... The Tennessee All-Stars had more EKU signees on roster than the Kentucky All-Stars. That shows that EKU is definitely not interested in KY players. If i was a senior that wanted to get looked at in my senior season i would take myself on down to Bowling Green.
what if the EKU coaches are visiting your school to see you , even head coach Hope, do they still tend to not offer scholarships?
-
Anybody hear how the first Senior Day camps of the season went at EKU and WKU?
Did any scholarship offers come out of these camps? Has EKU offered anybody yet, or is it early for them (1AA)?
-
WKU's camp had a good showing of athletes throughout the state. Covington Catholic's running back ran an excellent 40 (4.5) and Beechwood had a defensive lineman who ran a 4.6. Campbell County had a big kid, a linebacker I think, run a 4.7 in the 40.
Mason County and Clay County look to have good quarterback's heading into this season.
There were several offensive and defensive linemen who were impressive. I thought it was a well run camp, and WKU can capitalize on thier upcoming move to 1-A, as well as thier new facilities.
Any other QBs have good showings at EKU or WKU Sr camp?

yeah I think the stats would look quite different if they were in another district, like the district with Bell and Rockastle and Knox Central. It looks like Lone Oak would like to play at least some competitive games.
