Actually in most cases the visiting team brings a ball with them to replace the game ball. If they forget they will borrow one and replace it later.

Harris and the rest of Tubby"s untalented players came up big.

If you lie to me once I will never believe anything you say again. I believe every word to be true or I cannot believe any of it. Samson killed exactly 1000 Philistines. If not then there might has well have never been a Sampson. I believe every word is true and through prayer, study, and the annointing of the holy spirit, I will understand anything I need too.

I am sorry I could not get back sooner but sometimes duty calls. I am never offended by a discussion. I am also smart enough to know when it is time to disagree. My Christian believe is based one hundred percent in faith. I believe that Jesus litterally died for my sins. I believe that God's word is complete and correct. If the Bible says that God created the earth in 6 days then I believe it was created in 6.000 days. If the bible says there were dragons (dinosaurs) then I believe there were. I believe in an all powerful God who is capable of keeping his word intact. I believe that for the last 400 years we have been using the Bible he gave us. I beleve when I go to me knees and talk to him that he not only hears what I say but that he answers me. I believe that when I was saved the Holy Spirit (part of the trinity) moved into my heart. I know there is a lot of science (some later proved untrue) that points to evolution and there is a lot of old text that do not alway agree. Anytime I am in doubt of what to do or believe I ask The Father. Gentlemen I will never convince any of you that you are wrong. But I can assure you that you will never convince me to accept what the world thinks over what I believe by faith, prayer and the Holy Spirit that dwells in me.
Thank you for listening.

Here are a few more verses that are left out of the NIV.
Matthew 17:21
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Mathew 18:11
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Matthew 23:14
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater Word Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter Violationation.
Mark 7:16
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
Mark 9:44
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mark 9:46
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mark 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 15:28
And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
Luke 17:36
Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Luke 23:17
(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) .
John 5:4
For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
Acts 8:37
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Acts 15:34
Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
Acts 24:7
But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,
Acts 28:29
And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
Romans 16:24
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Comment: The NIV seems to dislike calling Jesus, Lord and Christ. This verse calls Him both.
I John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Comment: This would be a Denial of the Trinity.
Again I am not telling you what Bible to use. I am telling you why I would never use anything but the KJV. I do not want someone to take away or add to Gods Word. There is not anyone other than God that I can give that authority to.

I have no problem with the bible being translated into every language. But the NIV and other bibles are not translations, they are interpretations. There are many verses in the NIV where things are simply left out. This is not due to a different translation.
NIV
Matthew 18:10 “See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. 12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?
KJV Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
The KJV states that the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. The NIV drops this completely. I do not think that you can leave out whole sentences and call it a translation.
There are many verses in the NIV where Jesus is taken out of the verse. Other bibles have the same problems. I do not have time right now but if someone really wants to compare a bible to the KJV I will be happy to do that for them.

Boys its been fun but I gotta shower and get ready for church.
-
Turn the other cheek????
Jesus's teachings are all about context. Who was he speaking to? What happened previously that led up to him saying this? What happened afterwards? We have to learn to look to the Bible first and then ask questions.
-
My bad I mixed the two up, thanks for once again judging...
I just check to make sure people understand something before they attack it and/or reject it
-
Help me understand...because I believe that it took billions of year for our planet to form...for the Grand Canyon to be made...for Hawaii to be built up by volcanic eruptions...for the Himalayas to become the majestic peaks that they are.

An example of God's violence in the OT comes in the first book of Samuel...
This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys. (1st Sam 15:2-3)
OK in the very first line we see why God destroyed them...they were attacking his people.
-
During the OT I believe there are several quotes regarding violence and war, yet in the NT Jesus preaches peace over and over....
Also, did Job really get swallowed by a whale, or was the whale a metephor just like his story?
God wanted peace as well. That is certainly not a contradiction but if you could actually give some verses that would help. And actually it was Jonah who got swallowed. Ha did you even read the story?

No, we don't see fissures on the earth or evidence of any that are caused by large amounts of water bursting out of the ground.
Also there's the problems with the fact that there were civilizations that were thriving at the time of the flood and apparently were totally missed by the flood. China has written history dating back 6,000 years and if they were hit by the flood there would have been evidence of their civilization being wiped out. The same for Egypt and the Sumerians.
The flood story is also very similar to earlier stories from Sumerian myths that predate the writing of the Bible and the flood timeline itself.
Tell me, if you saw a fissure that was indeed caused by water bursting out, would you know it? Or would you quote more secualr science about what should be there if it really was the flood. No one was there. Let me ask something. If the layers were laid down over millions of years, how come there aren't any erosion marks between the layers?
-
No, I'm saying the Bible is not to be taken literal... The OT contradicts with the NT way too much to be taken directly literal... I don't think anyone is neglecting the bible, they just interpret it figuratively instead of literally...
Why don't you give a few examples where they contradict.
-
Please refer to post #155.
If you fully understnad the flood, that is the conclusion one comes to. Its either that or millions of years that formed our planet.
-
So does women not obeying men and being their servants...
women are to submit to their husbands and cannot have authority over the man. SO what are you saying? Since most people have neglected this part of the Bible it justifies neglecting others?
-
Can you answer my question?
What exactly do you want to know? Why I believe the global flood laid it all down and not millions of years of uniformitarianism?
-
Accept God's word??? Are you accusing of a person, who believes in evolution and a 4.1 billion year old earth, of not accepting God's word?
Well....evolution and an old earth certainly contradict the Bible.
-
Please elaborate. How can you show that either is true? Just because you say it, doesn't make it so?
Your're absolutely right! God told us how he did it. As a Christian I believe and don't question it. When I talk to skeptics like yourself, I study further to see exactly how God did it. I don't want you to accept what I say and obviosuly you don't. Accept God's Word first, then the rest will make sense.
-
No, they don't fall short. They just correct the glaring errors of the faulty KJV.
By omitting verses?

The "fountains of the deep" would have left huge craters and a layer of sediment all across the planet. There is none. .
SO you don't see any large fissures or craters on land and/or in the ocean? IT sounds to me like you are listening to secular scientists more than the WOrd of God since you know what would "have to happen".

What do you say is necessary to form a fossil? So it takes more than 2000 years, but less than 4000 years to do so?
Most fossils are formed when a plant or animal is quickly and deeply buried, out of reach of scavengers, usually in mud, lime, or sand sediment rich in cementing minerals that harden and preserve at least parts of the dead creature.
Only the Flood can produce such a catastrophe. So yes what couldn't happen in 2,000 years can happen in less than 4,000 because of the Flood.
-
Disclaimer: This is not a personal attack, but a question aimed at asking for clarification.
If humans and dinosaurs existed at the same time, wouldn't there be fossil layers that pre-date the flood that contain both human and dinosaur remains?
Doubtful because of whats necessary to form a fossil. Also, there wouldn't be enough to form many layers if any at all. From Adam to the flood was only around 2,000 years. Why would there be human fossils before the Flood? Do humans fossilize today when they die?

I've read Genesis over and over again and come to the same conclusion. It's a parable. God may have caused a local flood to wipe out the wicked people in the "world" (Mesopotamia) but I don't think it's global or the Earth is 6,000 years old.
I didn't say that i don't believe God hasn't and won't judge the world but all the evidence points to the global flood not occuring.
It couldn't have been local because God said everything outside the ark would die. If it was local, why did Noah take over 100 years to build a massive structure when his family could have walked to the other side of the earth given 100 years? If it was local, why did God promise not to ever flood the world again, gave his promise in the rainbow? Cuase there have been many local floods over the years so I guess God broke his promise. If it was local, how could the ark float for son long? Water seeks its own level. THe water would soon be gone if it was local and I doubt they would land on a mountain had it been local.

I like Bradley. He is a two guard and is no more a one than he is a five but with the injuries he is the best we have. This is not his fault. Rhondo was supposed to be the point, not Bradley.
