Tyler Boyles is an excellent punter but after watching skaggs he would be a great back up. I stand corrected on my stats. Huffman scores two and a conversion, then Burchett and Litteral. I think there has been some major worries about how this team is going to do once our seniors have gone. Our seniors are a great bunch of guys and hard workers and if these boys buy into the same mentality we have another great group coming up.

Can see one add the stats to this game. I know alot of those that could not be there would love to know how this game went for both Raceland and Ashland. I am sure we had several BGP members that attended the game.

I know I will be leaving someone out so please add to. Huffman scored and had a two point conversion. Burchett scored and Litteral scored. I just cant remember if one of these boys scored twice or I am leaving someone out. Shearer had a good catch and nice little run. The Scaggs boy punted and he should be looked at in the future for kicking. I think I have missed a touchdown and another two point conversion. That is what you get when you are old and its hot. You drink to much and go to the restroom to much.

I am certainly hoping not but from all reports that I have heard from Ashland then I am a afraid that Ashland may have the advantage.

 

I have made it a personal policy for the last two years not to make any predictions on any Raceland games, that policy/superstition or whatever has worked out pretty well so I will continue with it .

I agree about the line. In both 2006 and 2007 the Rams defensive line stayed on the field holding the Tomcats from scoring. The scores were not blowout scores but because of the line our offense was able to make the play that has won these games.

Coming from the old fart section I did notice only three posts about Ashland scimmage one being from our old friend Graybeard. Sounds like the Tomcats are on lock down.

Just a short announcement off topic. KCU which has players from both the Rams and Ashland will be having their first game at Morehead on Thursday the 28th in Morehead. I believe game time kicks off at 8. Thats two great nights of area football.

Just putting my two cents in about JV players. As fan and former coach, I always appreciate a coach that will put JV players in when they can. With a 1A team injuries can factor in. Just the numbers in general may not be there. I would like to know that a Coach would prepare his JV to go in and play at Varsity level if an injury or a need would occur. I think our Coaches will prepare the JV to do that.

There is no reason to believe this is a JV game. The Varsity players are starting their season off with playing time against another team. I am sure Coach Vanderhoof will have the Varisty players getting their reps in preparation for the Ashland game. Can all be revealed at a grid game? No

Ram is so right. We are all wishing the absolute best for them but all this talk is exactly what it is talk.

We have said it so many times in different years. Take one ballgame at a time. Any team can be having the best game of their season on the day you play them.

The only thing I have noticed is, when one makes a mistake its hard for that player to shake it off. There are a few that are extremely hard on themselves. That is great if you do it in the right way and come back out with confidence that the mistake wont be repeated.

Too much build up is not a good thing. Some of the boys have said directly they are uncomfortable with the hype. I am also calling on all fans and parents in the stands please be supportive and not overly negative of a player. These are our boys and someones son.

I guess that was my introduction speach for this season.

As a mother of one of the players,its not the team that are making the predictions its every one else that is expecting alot out of these boys! They want to win and are practicing very hard to get ready for the season and have never heard any of these boys say anything about dominating any team.The first few games are going to tell alot so let just wait to see what happens then!

I agree with this statement. Outside the actual football team (coaches, parents, and players) are making these statements. I am positive the coaches are reminding them that no game will be handed to them. The hard work will have to be proven on the field not by what is said.

Congrads to GC. To the Raceland Team you all did a fine job coming back this year and playing with heart. We all will sadly miss our seniors. We wish you all the best in your future college plans.

Martin is an excellent player and a good friend to these young men. He has encouraged a younger team to do better and work harder. His family is ever present at all the ballgames encouraging the entire team. Martin is glue holding the Ram team together.

Thank you Uncle Jed. I should of not let that bother me. I think it got my old man temper flairing. He claims to be a Ram but has managed to bash the team, coaches and now individual players each and everytime he has got on.

Bluegrasspreps was set up to my knowledge to talk about the teams in an encouraging way. Most of us strive to discuss strengths and weaknesses of the teams in a postive manner. It gets my goat when suscribers get on here and take pot shots at the teams, coaches and players.

I apologize for losing my temper. I hope that both teams play well and no injuries.

I am so sorry that I am losing my cool on this one but to think thegooch is on here posting on Raceland threads. Having a brother on the team as he posted on the coaches needs to be dismissed thread. NOT a Ram fan obviously.

We all know the CF personally and we all know the stats. The CF hasnt missed any more than a couple all season. He has been asked to play on a couple of teams after season is over including post 76.

In case nobody has noticed this quote about our CF also comes from the same one wanting our coaches dismissed. Its a shame that this young man cannot be more supportive of the players and coaches for Raceland.

I was wrong about the East game it was in the paper. I was looking on the internet and didnt see it.

I too will not post anymore on this thread because OLDRAMBLER and STATMASTER have my views. My question is entirely a different one and I hope no one jumps on the bandwagon thinking I am talking bad about the Daily Independent but here is my question. Does the Daily not post scores for everyone? Seems to me the two games we have won recently have not been posted. (Menifee and East)

I am old and forgetful so maybe that has always been the way of it. Certain games are selected.
