21-7 with 50 seconds left in 1st quarter

48 yard TD pass/run for Quick

MBA beat Kingsbury (Memphis) 51-0 lst night. The game at MBA will be tough on Trinity. I see a close game, maybe 28-24 Trinity.

I think that St X's record in the first five games may be the factor. If St X can win 4 games then the ST X flock will show up. Or if Trinity stumbles in its first five games then the St X fans may come out. However, if St X loses to Dutch Fork and Moeller and Trinity is sweeping wins then I doubt 40,000 would show up.

So he went in a circle? I hope someone got that on video.
On the opening play in the 2010 championship game, Quick ran across the field at the
Trinity goal line and then ran 100 yards for a touchdown. That was a long run.

Trinity is on a current great run, but who's to say that St. X or some other team can't or won't challenge them again. I understand what your saying, but if they leave KHSAA what would they do in November and early December when the rest of the country is in the playoffs. I don't see Trinity playing 10 games and going to the house each year when the playoffs start.
Trinity is on a run. It happened in 1988-1992 and 2000-2008 and 2010-2011. But those were runs were based on great players. The runs stopped. St X has had some great runs. Quick, Hatcher and that class will graduate and Trinity will again have to cope with the other schools.

Who wins?
Rematch of state football finals.
Trinity again proves why having 2,000+ boys in school helps win titles.
If they can win baseball, they sweep the big 3 titles.
The fact that Trinity has 1,300 males helps in football but not basketball. If student numbers meant anything, then why is Trinity making it's first trip to the elite eight, final four and championship game since it started basketball in 1956. A good coach and good players is the reason and not school population,.
-
Wouldn't it be neat if Trinity played Scott Cpunty in the championship game? It would be just like in football.
Has any school won championship in football and in basketball in one year.

Trinity up 63-41 in fourth quarter. Now Trinity gets to play PRP or Bulllitt East in Rupp. Just read this is Trinity second trip to Sweet 16.

WOW. Quick runs for 78 yards but Trinity is penalized.

I don't think Trinity could play bad enough to lose this game.
As elitist as this sounds, Trinity is not playing this game to win the State Title but playing this game to rout Scott County and preserve credibility on a national level. Coach Beatty will not say this and will say Trinity is only interested in winning the State. But the players and alumni know the score.
Trinity may never have a better chance to win some national polls than this year. This could be Trinity's year to be number one in some polls. How any Kentucky team ever done that? This game may be the most important game that Trinity has ever played.

The battle of the undefeateds in the 6A State Championship team. Thoughts? Predictions? Please post them here!
I think that Trinity will win by 28 and answer Guru's question posed 14 weeks ago: Can any Kentucky team come within 28 points of Trinity? Among 6-A schools the answer is NO. However, I think that Bowling Green and Highlands would give Trinity a better game than Scott County. Prediction 42-13.
-
Scott County has 648 points this year in 14 games and Trinity has 635 points in 13 games. Trinity should beat Scott County by more than 13 points.
-
Trinity 21 Butler 6 at the half. Butler is giving Trinity its toughest game since Indianapolis Cathedral. Butler is well coached.
-
I think the difference is coaching. Obviously St. Xavier is very well coached but Trinity is coached about as well as a high school team can be coached and they are much more creative on offense. The result is with close to equal talent Trinity is going to win a lot more often than not and stud athletes choosing between the two schools are going to go to T over X more often than not.
I agree with Guru. The schools recruit from the same areas but Beatty may be getting the better players among the "not committed by father" group. Many students will go to StX because their fathers, borothers or other relatives went to StX. Others may go to Trinity for same reason. However, there are students whose parents moved to Louisville or have parents who went to neither school. Beatty may be getting these players because he is a more creative coach.
Next year Trinity SHOULD beat StX two times based on anticipated rosters. Trinity may go ahead in games won for first time in 56 year history. However, I do not see big difference in talent two years from now. For us old timers
Trinity is simpky having a good run on victories.
