Powell Wins 56th District Tournament - 4th straight Championship

Powell played a great game, benningfield went the distance, strong through all 7 ...both teams played well...Powell definately looks good going into regional play, Congrats to the Pirates, Good luck at Region!

oh yea, heard someone from the Powell side say that #17 for Powell drove in two runs with a dislocated shoulder... :ylsuper:

what was the final decision on the coach? Did Parrott infact get the job?...hope he can stick around for a while if so, owsley needs to rebuild...

congrats the LCC...looks like they are ready for regional play...it's going to be a close regional tournament, can't wait to see who turns out on top...

Do you think though, that the move from the 56th district helped Wolfe's chances in winning the district tournament? and i don't believe saying that the 55th is weak necessarily degrades anybody...to ask if they are one of the weaker districts doesnt mean they are worse than anybody, it just means that the others may be better...

has feltner applied to any other schools...and what's this about spurlock..he's still coaching in Hazard from what i know...don't think he'd want to leave after winning the region last year, why was spurlock even brought up..the thread's about feltner and KCC?

the 14th is goin to be somewhat tight this year, all the teams should look pretty good...but thinking back to last year leslie was the favorite and lost to Jackson City in the semi-finals, so seeing the high praises for JBS does'nt look good for them...im not a believer of superstition, but these are facts...just thought i'd point this out...last years pre-season number three ranked team ended up in Rupp (Hazard), im just going to say that the number 3 or 4 ranked team will most likely win the regional tournament...

they're gonna need a great coach this year, one that is looking to stay a while and build a team, Jackson is down this year...they lost they're key players from last year, regional runner-up doesnt seem to be in the picture again...they may prevail in the district though...

JBS will be the best next season, they will be for a couple more years...lee co. has a lot of talent this year, with a very talented senior class coming in, the 56th should be competitive once again though.. with powell's return of 11 seniors...and estill returns a few key players, owsley is somewhat down this year, unless neeley can put on a show, the 55th will be a trick aswell, with breathitt and wolfe, but they'll have to watch out for Jackson City
